This felt like freakin' Serial Experiments Lain's cooler, maybe more confusing cousin?! This was so good, my gosh.
Res and Adaline's relationship explored in great nuance, focusing on their conflicts how they came to to what led them here in the land of wires and code and to build a maybe good, def codependent relationship with the push and pull that comes with it to the point where you don't even know who's know at the end before the amazing finale. It was all done so well. (And back to Lain, yeah I wish they gave her friend like you guys did with Adaline. She would've benefited with a Res.)
How you guys used Decker was so creative and loved how interactive it felt, looking through the forums, the terms of agreement, photo attachments, doodles. I definitely loved the vibes from beginning to end. Aaah! Great work <3 I can't wait to read the next entry in the series after giving my head a little breather lol
This was a really engaging piece. I found myself quickly immersed in the cyberpunk world with the grounding of the forum posts, and then felt like I was being pulled through a labyrinth of consciousness with spiky walls. The Decker styling + pixel art + palimpsest of text, buttons, boxes, and so on created a collage effect that still felt cohesive. I tried interacting with the list of limiting factors by deleting them to see if that affected the narrative in some way. I'm not sure if it did, but I appreciated the invitation to attempt to irresponsibly rewrite the code as an immersive element.
