Which path did you choose?
How does your game bring our theme, OUT OF TIME, to life?
The game embraces Out of Time by focusing on musical misalignment. The player must clap off-beat on purpose, staying rhythmically out of sync with the music to succeed.
What did you do to ensure accessibility of the game?
The game includes three difficulty levels so players of different skill levels can enjoy it and ease into the mechanics at their own pace.
Did you include the Indieformer or Patch Notes logo somewhere in your game?
If AI was used in your game, let us know how you used it.
AI was used sparingly to help identify minor bugs I couldn’t track down in time, and to generate background art due to time constraints (and drawing ineptitude) during development.

Hi! As a possible improvement, it might help to highlight correct (or incorrect) inputs with a bright visual cue or a sound, since when you’re focused on the screen it’s not very convenient to keep an eye on the text below.
I’m an osu! fan, and I really enjoy games in this genre. Thanks for the game!*
Hey, we both made musical games! Nice!
The idea to be out of sync on purpose is pretty creative!
I did have some difficulty knowing when the right moment was to play a note. Both tracks being far apart made that a bit more challenging as you have to split your focus across the screen.
Overall great job making this game!
As a rhythm game player, this felt a bit on the easy side? But I would imagine others may struggle with the offbeat thing. The concept is interesting, and I would hope there's more to the game, which should make it more enjoyable.

Anyway, it's always good to see a rhythm game in a jam, so I am definitely not complaining! Keep up the good work!
Thanks a lot for the detailed feedback!
I’m glad you liked the concept, the music choice, and the overall look of the game. The “offbeat” idea was definitely aimed at being approachable for non–rhythm game players, so I totally get why it might feel a bit easy for experienced players. Adding more beat patterns and variations is a great suggestion and something I’d love to explore if I continue working on the game.
Regarding the UI issues, you’re absolutely right — those are simple but important fixes, and some things slipped through due to time constraints. Being a solo developer during a game jam makes it hard to catch everything, but feedback like this really helps.
Thanks again for playing and for taking the time to write such a thoughtful comment!
In my opinion, it would be nice if there were a penalty for failure. I wasn’t exactly sure what counted as success or failure, so I just kept mashing A and L. That said, the music was exciting, and the generous scoring made me feel good.
Thanks for your comment!
There is a penalty for failing and missing notes, but it only reduces the combo slightly. I felt that resetting the combo to zero would be too punishing, especially for new players, but I agree the feedback could be clearer and I’ll look into better ways to communicate success and failure.
Thanks a lot for playing!
