Wow, this is totally my style! The horror effect where the profile picture's face distorts intermittently is exactly the kind of thing I love! The idea of popping up an ad window was great too.
By the way, there were some icons on the right side of the screen that didn't work when I clicked them. What are they for?
Hey, thanks for playing. I'm glad you loved the Style; the icons on the right side were more for show to make the Desktop look more filled out.
I really liked the idea behind the game. I think the cookie clicker is the perfect simple anchor for the rest of the game. What I find a bit of a shame is that it always ends the same way. It doesn't quite fit with the message, because no matter what I do, I've lost either way.
Short and simple game with a scary atmosphere! Damn ads are gonna be the death of me! I wish there was options for different endings or more explanation of who this chain killer was but good game nonetheless!
Hey, thanks for playing. We're glad you liked it. There are lots of little ways we could expand on it, maybe something cool for the future.
Originally, I wanted an alternate ending where, if you did everything in time, the Chain Killer just gets upset and leaves.
I liked the idea of the game, it has a good atmosphere. I also noticed that the game lags, but i don't understand why. The game was really lacking sounds. But overall, it's a pretty good game.
Hi, thank you so much for playing. We've had a few comments about the performance and are looking into it. We're not quite sure what could be causing these bottlenecks in performance, considering it's quite a low-stakes game, unless it's just UE5 being UE5.
Really wanted to play this one but it's lagging so hard on my low-end laptop T_T even though it looks like it shouldn't be hard on hardware at all...
Hi there, thanks for downloading our game. Terribly sorry about the performance. We didn't have much time to do an optimisation pass, but most of the assets are 2D, so I'm unsure what could be tanking the performance. Maybe one day we'll push out an improved version after the Jam, but again, thank you for your time.
really cool game! loved the aesthetic. I think at the end of the game the jumpscare started up again after the credits...? is this intentional
Hi, thank you so much for playing. We're glad you had a good time with it. The cutscene shouldn't loop. We may have to see if we can fix that after the jam -.-
Very nice game, short but sweet! Good job with the visuals!
I think it would be cool if you could drag the windows to complete the desktop feel. And it would be super funny if you could respond to the message for a different ending. :D
Moving windows and messing with the taskbar, etc., were all planned, but unfortunately didn't make it in time. I also debated an alternate ending where the User just angrily rants at the player for beating the game if they managed to win, but again, time caught up to us, haha.
This is amazing honestly, very creative and the story is really well. I could see this expanded a little bit and made into a full game. I enjoyed it a lot
Thank you so much 😊 Were really happy with how it turned out and have played with the idea of taking it further next Halloween
