PhotonSCX has also very generously donated alternative fonts to the standard Topaz font for anyone to use in their AmiGameJam projects, check out the link here. There is also now an AmiBlitz plugin made by Honitos available for anyone to use that will let you include any fonts including PhotonSCX's ones!
"Return of the Arcade."
This year, the challenge is to make an Amiga game that could sit in a classic arcade cabinet. Think fast, exciting gameplay that grabs players from the first moment. Easy to pick up, tricky to master, and always leaving players wanting to come back and insert another credit. Arcade games are all about instant fun, fast-paced action, and the thrill of skillful play. They usually focus on short, exciting sessions with clear goals: scoring points, defeating waves of enemies, completing levels, or racing against the clock.
The competition will close at 1.00AM GMT 1st March 2026. After this date, voting will open to the community to vote on each of the games for around three weeks. There will be a live-streamed show where the entries will be discussed by a panel of judges along with the results. The show will be hosted on AmigaBill's Twitch channel with a date to be confirmed later on.
The game must be an original one, no ports allowed this time around. Entries need to have been started after the start date which is June 1st, 2025. Any tools can be used for this competition such as Scorpion Engine, however please keep in mind that the theme is based around a game you would play on an arcade cabinet but made for the Amiga platform.
