Hello! Feel free to reply to this with a description/details about the game you will be working on for this jam. Can include the following (or more, or less! up to you!):

1. Project name

2. Description

3. When you started the project

4. Your personal due date (can be the end of the jam, or earlier)

Host(+12)

I WILL REPLY WITH MINE

Project name: Adonia AI

Description: Join an AI startup that makes bots of dead people and get to know the employees involved through face to face conversations and computer chats. Oh, and make sure you're keeping up with your emails, or face an early termination! Dating sim/visual novel, 3M/1F love interests.

When it started: 2022 😭💀

Personal due date: End of the jam, but earlier would be nice (if I can make the VA happen fast enough)

(+9)

I've never joined a jam faster in my life! xDD
I'll use it as an excuse to put some pressure on rewriting some dialogue scenes and finally be able to move on to drawing some assets that are missing (the fun part!).

Project name: Deeper Deductions

Genre: Visual novel murder mystery

Description: Play the role of young detective Miyu Mindbottom and use your detective skills and extrasensory powers to get to the bottom of the case! Together, with her chatty inner voice Jiminy and the sharp forensic detective Lagarde Longtail, will Miyu succeed in figuring out the truth behind the death of the famous Dr. Daedalus Deiscoverer?

When it started: August 2025 🫠

Personal due date: End of the jam is the last call, but hopefully it's finished during winter 2025 🤞

(+10)

Oof this fucking spoke to me. Immediate join cause I've been thinking about picking this project back up for a couple weeks now and this is a great way to motivate myself!

Accidental Necromancy (Demo)

Project Name: Accidental Necromancy

Description: Otome/Amare visual novel where you accidentally bring your dead best friend back back to life! Oops! (Fun fact- my husband has insisted since I told him the general story idea that I should call it 'Oopsamancy' which is amusing but I like my title better) There's also a second LI and some family mysteries, and I've got a bunch of different endings planned which I always find fun in a game.

When it started: April 2024- I started this for NaNoRenO 2024 and then fell into the black hole of FFXIV shortly afterwards (I'd played before and always lost interest after a month or two but I'm still going strong this time...). Just recently decided to participate in O2A2 and I've been itching to work on this ever since.

Personal Due Date: I'd like to finish sooner than the jam end cause I got other story ideas but I think the end of the jam is a good date to aim for.

(+9)

My project has been going well, but an end date to work towards is always helpful! I'm happy with the core systems and the work already in place. My goal is to buckle down and add more upgrades, enemies, and bosses before calling it good enough for a 1.0 Steam release.

Project Name: Ironclad Angels

Genre: Top-down roguelike shooter with vehicle customization

Description: A distant colony has sent a distress signal, and the fleet you and your tank crew are currently serving with was the first to respond. Customize your weaponry, chassis, and choice of copilots before being sent dirtside to deal with the alien threats. Collect XP by defeating enemies and destroying buildings to unlock vehicle upgrades. Complete missions to earn research points and use them to unlock new customization options for future missions.

Started: June 2024

Due Date: End of the jam. As long as I have spent less than 2 years before getting it up on Steam I'm happy!

(1 edit) (+7)

Project Name: Sleepover on Lime Street

Description: With Lindsay's best friend back in town for the senior year of highschool, Lindsay Lime and her best friend Chip Ramirez have a sleepover!

Extra info: These characters are from a romance/slice of life comic-in-progress's story called Frootie Peoples. They belong to the Frootieverse, and are also mainly owned by my best friend Ray! The visual novel will include easter eggs about the main story and other information about the characters and place (Frootie Town) the vn is centered around!

When I started: Summer of 2024

Due Date: End of Jam 🙏🙏

Man, I feel like after my laptop broke back in 2023 and I lost some of the files all my motivation to finish this game vanished, and I really want to get back to it!!! It feels like a broken promise at this point

Project Name: Spring Boy

Genre: Otome/Amare Visual Novel

Description: Eri's first year of college has been lonely and anxiety ridden, although she'd never let that show through her cheery exterior. However, on the night of the Spring Festival at her college, she ends up running into a strange boy named Vasant. As if by fate, the two keep meeting, and through these meetings she finds herself discovering a world of magic, and maybe she'll even find the strength to discover herself. But spring doesn't last forever, and if there's one thing Eri should know, is that love blooms and dies in the spring.

Started: May 2023

Due Date: End of jam (which would be perfect timing since it'll pretty much be March aka spring!!)

(+7)

I suppose now i can't turn back....

Name: Tea calls, at 3 AM!

Description: After a chain of tragic events and worsening insomnia, you decide to go get some tea in the night. Turns out you're not gonna be serving tea just for yourself.

When started: I think late 2024? i dont remember really

Due date: Sooners the better

(+4)

I would, but there is absolutely no way possible for me to complete my personal project before the end of the jam, and it's the only game I've done any true work on. I have a couple of ideas floating around, but nothing else actually started.  (Been in progress for 5 years, and only just now getting to the mechanics)

Care to share more?

3D survival game set in a post apocalyptic fantasy world in which the different species have formed factions and most have terrible relations to each other. Magic is distrusted in most of the world. You start out in a small town up in a high mountain area and find out that magic is deteriorating and if the magic dies, then so does beauty and creativity. To be replaced with insatiable hunger and machines that destroy the planet. You have to find and correct the areas of misuse, disuse, and confusion and fix the issues to right the world.  You are drug into battles, quarrels, and peace deals and eventually have the opportunity to build your own community(ies) to help link people together. You can recruit npcs to help grow your community and have the option to set up auto-join restrictions - so community builder/management.

Original idea was for a multiplayer aspect, but unsure if I want to really start out with that option now that i've done more work on the story and mechanics.

Submitted

I see. Thank you. That does sound very ambitious, especially if you're working alone. Good luck with it. :)

(+1)

I have a couple friends giving some ideas for NPCs, and stuff, but pretty much all the art and coding will be me. Eventually I might even learn how to code, lol.

(1 edit) (+10)

putting myself on blast so you can publicly shame me if i dont finish this game by the time the jam ends

Project name: Alaris

Description: Fantasy romance visual novel about a healer who ends up Getting Into Some Shit and finds themself in the midst of a Big Old Mystery. We got a personality system and six LIs in this bad boy.

Started: I say July 2020 (LMAOOOO..... HAHAHAHHA..........) when I want to inflict psychic damage on myself and send myself into an existential crisis. October 2022 when I want to be nicer to myself since that's when the Kickstarter happened.

Due Date: End of jam for Full Release keep me in your prayers

(2 edits) (+7)

Okay! This should be interesting.

1. Project name: Void Watchers (may change, I've never been entirely happy with the title), a dark fantasy TTRPG.

2. Description: A group of people, some human, some human plus, some not human at all, attempt to guard this dimension from the threats from this world, other worlds, and the spaces between.

3. When you started the project: Uhhhh...mid-00s? It initially grew out of some books & stories I wrote, then it kept getting bigger, eventually I accepted that it had become its own thing, and began to rebuild from scratch a decade or so ago. It was last touched about 4yrs ago when I did some beta sessions.

4. Your personal due date (can be the end of the jam, or earlier): March sounds good tbh. I'm gonna try to plan ahead and set aside some time weekly. The structure is ready to go, aside from proofing, I have a character sheet etc all ready to go with some minor tweaks, and I believe the balances and the dice system are also ready because they all got lots of testing. But it's a bit of a monster so putting it into readable format, complete with art (which my wife will continue to do), is gonna take some time. I'm not great at design work so it'll be fairly basic, but hopefully clean and easy to digest. I'd love to also have characters and a short campaign but that'd still be a LOT more work to take what I already have an expand on so that's all secondary and can come later.

I deal with chronic pain and fatigue and brain issues, so having a solid external deadline is very helpful 😁

Hi I'm Joe

I am looking to finish my TTRPG Children With Wands

In Children With Wands you paly as children who have just come into their magic, so you are not great at casting spells yet. When you want to cast a spell you roll a d20 to see how strong your spell in not how well you cast it. I started the game mid covid epidemic and last year in December funded it successfully on Kickstarter. I have been working on it but an having trouble getting it finished. The perfect being the enemy of the good plus a full time job that also requires creative energy.

I wan to finish the game by September so I can have it out to people in October and they can enjoy the pre written adventure "Halloween in Fairhaven" when it is seasonally appropriate.

What need done, a few spells need rewritten and a bit of work on the adventure, I have kind of hit a wall on these. the spell Bluster, a wind spell, is giving me particular trouble.

(+7)

My project is called A Town Called Hubris

It's a TTRPG about Greek demigods in the Wild West, relying on the overlaps between the two genres (more than you'd think!)

I started it about four years ago, but I recently came back to it. I've got enough done that I want to do the first alpha playtest soon. The chief obstacle is time: I have a full-time job and two full-time children. My partner's amazingly supportive but she also has a full time job and a full time creative career...

My goal is to get the text done by the end of the jam. Art and possible crowdsourcing can happen after that.

(1 edit) (+9)

Excited to be here, this is the kick in the rear I needed to push through and finish this project!

Project name: A Sanctuary For You

Description:

You play as a lighthouse keeper living on her own over the course of three days, and you choose the tasks you want to perform to maintain the lighthouse each day. Depending on what you do while awake, you might recall different memories from your past and pave the way for a new future... Piece together your past over the course of several routes and answer the door when the time comes!

When you started the project: Started planning July 2024,  started coding May 2025.

Your personal due date (can be the end of the jam, or earlier): End of year 2025! (12/31/2025)

(+8)

Perfect for a project I've been desperately needing a kick to get back into focus on:

Project Name: Arms and Amour

Description: An experimental 2-player TTRPG about thirsty lesbian swords and the hot lady knights who wield them.

When started: Late 2024

Personal due date: end of 2025

(+7)

Project name : Heartburn

Description : 23 year old Fable hasn't been back to the place that stole away their adolescence for years; a place that gave them someone they will never get away from. But, now that the boarding schools true intentions are out in the open and the building is closed, something calls them back to the place their life truly began. A horror point and click Visual Novel, following the path and twisted view of teenage years and traumatic supernatural encounters. Accompany Fable and [ WHO ? ] as they finally learn what really happened at Nexilis Seminary.

For better, or for worse.

When you started the project : ...Like... Early 2025. It's. I'll get it done dw 😭

DUE DATE : ..END OF THE JAM??? HOPEFULLY???

WE'RE ALL LOCKING IN ON THIS ONE!! First time trying to do a Steam release ever

Project Name: Dead Ringer Brother: A Detective De Witte Case

I'm here to tell on myself in this thread!!✌️🐦‍⬛Version 1.7 is long past due.

Project name: Love Limit

Description:  In an effort to support her sister's future endeavours as a matchmaker, Eiren Reeves agrees to a blind date. Several hours later, when her date's a no show... The planet is invaded!? No, it couldn't be. There's no way Eiren's date is an alien invader that just put the fate of the world in her hands, right? Unless...?

When it started: 2024/11/16 😓

Personal due date: SOB. September 20th. I thought that was realistic 2 months ago... (Stares into camera) Anyway, I really hope to have it all done before the jam ends! I've been recovering from an injury and my motivation has been in the gutter because of censorship stuff. I'll be chipping away at the CGs, adding sprites, packaging the Steam release, and building the mobile apk. 💪🐦‍⬛

This sounds fun. :) I've been working on a few games. One of which was so depressing that I thought I could make something more light-hearted for a change. With this specific game, I have a pretty clear idea of what I'm going for and, within the context of the jam, I hope I will be extra motivated to finish it.

Project name: Buuuuuurger

Genre: Comical visual novel

Description: Before you go into town (and get a burger), you can speak with Christie. She is a funny girl who likes burgers.

When it started: Somewhere in June of 2025

Personal due date: End of the jam (hopefully, released much earlier than that)

A message to you guys: every journey is comprised of steps Every step brings you closer to the destination. Make those steps. One by one. Go for it!

(+2)

Hello to everyone. This is an old concept for the main character, I'm still unearthing all the other material I have lying around in forgotten external disks.

1. Project name: Dark Forest (which i think should change)

2. Description: It's a romantic/adventure visual novel in a fantasy world where two factions are at war. The conflict lights up because the prince/princess of one faction gets abducted. A team is set to retrieve the stolen royal but in their travels they discover some things about the origin of the war that changes things.

3.  This project is something I started in... 2015 with a friend. I had a lot of work put into it but in the end it was abandoned.  I shall change quite a few things since I can't use my old friend's ideas.

4. I hope I can make it by the end of the jam. I think I can make it if I cut some stuff and make it shorter.

wsg im making a lesbian doomed yuri game about rebellious teenagers and anxious guardian angels, it doesnt even have a name yet or art (pls gimmie ideas for names i need ideas for names for the game) i got the idea a few weeks ago and it was just boiling in my mind without me having the energy to make it real, but now with this jam im determined to make it real cuz its a cool idea. my due date is by the end of the jam its probs gonna be done earlier i would say a month or two since im also working on another big game progect i have

oh yeah and here is the description i wrote in google docs for the idea (there was an image next to it but for some reason its now glitchy and doesnt show up sooooo yahh)

"So guys, hear me out, see this image yeah? Well, imagine this but its lesbian. We got girl no.1, the rebellious one, drugs, sneaking out, smoking, stealing, partying, all that shit. Now girl no.2 is a guardian-angel-in-training, she was assigned as her final test to become a real guardian angel to guard girl no.1 from her death which is coming in a week, without telling girl no.1 that if girl no.2 doesnt save her somehow without knowing what is gonna kill her, then she will die (cuz thats against the angel rules or smth, ya gotta save the person without 1: knowing whats gonna kill em and 2: without telling the person).  To summarize: possibly doomed yuri where its kinda like opposites attract and its gonna be so cute and so bad in one of the endings if i do this trust"

Submitted

Hey there. Makes me curious about the image you're referencing… :D

Anyway, I've come up with a few ideas for names.

  • Angel Wings and Deadly Things - references the plot and both the characters along with the contrast between them, plus has a rhyme to it

  • Angels and Dangers – similar to before but shorter and, possibly, catchier

  • Halo, Hello, Hell no – a possibly amusing way to summarize the premise if it's not too serious

  • Wrong Lane (or Wrong Lain) a metaphor for living a dangerous life (“going down a dangerous path”/”going in the wrong direction”) which can be also be a pun if the bad girl's name/surname is Lain/Lane, might work even better if the bad girl drives a car or if driving plays a somewhat significant role in the story

  • Tempting Fate – references fate and temptation, can be taken in different ways...

  • Date with Destiny – similar to before, has “date” which can imply romance

  • Fighting Fate / Defying Destiny / Destiny Deviance – variations of alliterations, the last one can be seen as referencing deviation from norms

  • Downward Spiral – references the life of the bad girl, also, a Nine Inch Nails reference which might be cool

  • Under My Wing – can be seen to represent different things: literal wings, protection and physical contact

  • 168 hours – references the week but makes it more intense because time passes even when you sleep

  • Our 168 hours – like before but also mentions the connection between the girls

  • See you tomorrow? – references that there may be no tomorrow and the connection between the girls

I hope this helps.

i might steal that 168 hour idea and make it "Only 168 hours"  wanna be credited for it?

Submitted

Yeah, that'd be nice. But it's not necessary. A thanks would be enough. :)

Project name: Cafe Oasi (working title)

Description: You are opening your own cafe... during the apocolypse. Better late than never right? Manage resources, build friendships and more as you try to keep your business afloat during the end of the world. Cafe Oasi is a visual novel with themes of friendship, grief and acceptance of what you can't control.

When it was started: Originally started late 2023 but lost all the code so I quit for a bit, recently restarted about a week ago finally

Personal due date: Atleast by the end of the jam, trying not to be too strict on myself

Submitted

Sounds kinda cool. :)

(+4)

Thank you robobarbie, this is what I needed

Project name: Our Light Affliction: Spider's Covenant (spent like 2000 years brainstorming this but i might still change it...)

Description: Edelweiss, a young diviner in training, gets roped into a contract with a spider apparition, who wants her help in ruling over the realm beyond that connects to her school. The school's resident exorcist is not about to let them have their way. Shape Edelweiss' thoughts and morality as she fails to heed the warning that all diviners and exorcists alike must know: to intertwine the mortal realm with the realm beyond can lead to naught but misfortune.

It's an otome VN with 1.5 LIs where the choices determine whether the characters have positive or negative development arcs!

When you started the project: This was originally my NaNoRenO 2024 concept...

Your personal due date: I believe I should be able to finish before the jam ends, but let's play it safe and set the jam's end as the ultimate deadline.

Submitted(+1)

Well, I just returned to game programming thanks to some inspiration. I'm planning to make a visual novel this time and am already starting with it. Well, here goes!

1. Project name: Whispers of the Broken Dice: The Final Dungeon’s Guardian is a Halfling Shopkeeper!

2. Description: A tired office worker, whose only escape from reality was his weekly DnD sessions, got accepted into a new game. An "Ultra-Realistic DnD Game Session." But just as he finished filling up the form, things changed. He saw weird things appear before him as he lost consciousness. When he wakes up, he's already inside a banged-up wooden shop within a mystical forest, sealing a dungeon underneath. Other than the details he set, like his name, Corin, he couldn't recall anything about his real life at all. He could not even recognize his own face. In this state, Corin tries to figure out what happened, if there's a way to return... and if there's a way to survive his, or rather, THEIR predicament.

3. When you started the project: August 22, 2025 (Yeah, just last week)

4. Your personal due date: I want to finish the Demo (Prologue and Chapter 1, maybe 2) around September 20, 2025.

Submitted(+2)
It started as a full single-player RuneScape-inspired experience running completely in Windows Batch (.bat), with ASCII-style graphics, menu-driven gameplay, RPG combat, and a progression system reminiscent of RuneMUD and SanctuaryRPG. Instead of just trying to copy RuneScape 1:1, I’m leaning into a more surreal, “toonified” vibe. Think classic grindy mechanics, but filtered through a playful, slightly offbeat lens. Tons of exploration and NPCs that simulate real-time events that the player can interact with.

1. Project name - ToonScape (Bat)

2. Description  -  “full single-player 'MMO' experience running completely in Windows Batch (.bat) ”

3. When you started the project - May 2025, set up the file structure and git. August 2025 rewrote to HTML + JS for itch web version.

4. Your personal due date -  playable demo by the end of the summer / release stable version with 20 complete quests by January 2026.

(+3)

Oh man, I have a backlog of unfinished projects going back years, but there's one in particular that I haven't quite given up on:

The Salamancer (working title)
A sandboxy top-down shooter roguelite
Inspired by Besiege, The Binding of Isaac, Bubble Tanks, Magicmaker, Vampire Survivors

You play as Seraphina Salamancer, a salamander witch who is shrunken down to the size of a mouse in a brewing mishap and lost in the wilds, armed with a special wand. The player physically builds the wand out by growing new branches. Early-game branch types have simple effects like firing a small projectile, but a wide variety is unlocked as the player progresses, including directly offensive ones like bounce and split projectiles, but also support branches that provide special effects to attached child branches, and eventually physics-enabled branches that can rotate independently, detach, and even push or block enemies, allowing for some pretty neat mechanisms. Progression is roguelite-ish, you explore a procedurally generated world, unlocking new branch types and routes for subsequent runs.

I've been working on this on and off since like 2022. I have vaguely playable prototypes for most of the core mechanics, now I 'just' need to put all the pieces together and fill in content. I know the game will be pretty niche, but I'm really passionate about it, and I hope to have something to show before the end of the year.

Project name: Fully Automated Space Capitalism

Description: A minimalist science fiction survival RPG created in Twine, where you can travel with your ship, explore planets and follow a story with about 10 quests.

When you started the project: 2023. It started as a version with graphics from another game I made in 2020 called Space Snacks. I stopped halfway through after some problems with the map and resumed development in August 2025, after spending some time trying to overcome the fiasco that occurred in my attempt to make a roguelike for 7DRL.

Personal due date: By the end of september I should have someting playable.

(+2)

Project name: Sea Scavenger

Description: In this game you are a scavenger who travels to beaches around the world to collect recyclable plastics to be remanufactured into useful products (and kept out of the ocean). This isn't a very realistic game, but the idea is to get the player to think about the potential value of plastic "waste."

When you started the project: Sea Scavenger is a game that was created by Code for Tucson (a Brigade of the Code for America Brigade Network, which was disbanded in 2023). Sea Scavenger is a web-based game created for The Opportunity Project in 2020. (Note that the web link may not work. It appears that The Opportunity Project domain was taken down by the Trump Administration in June 2025.) The objective of the game is to highlight the issue of ocean plastics pollution, utilizing an open dataset collected and curated by the US State Department. The team created a playable prototype in 2020, but there was a lot of work that still needed to be done to complete the game.

Personal due date: I want to have a fully functional game with improvements to the game play (to make it more fun) by the end of the jam.

I've never done a jam before, and I've barely done a VN before, but I saw this one and immediately knew this was the one for me,,,

1. Project name
Formerly Villainous, Formally Yours

2. Description
Y'know how the villain becomes the group bestie against their will?  Yeah, it's that, except you kinda get to romance the villain <3
Join Team Aero and stop the Demon King from plunging the world into eternal flame and darkness—while trying to befriend his son who is now kicking it at your hideout.

3. When you started the project
I actually started at the end of August 2025, so I'm doing okay... but I'm having such paralysis doing any of the assets. I just now finished coding the script, and all my backgrounds are screenshots and manga pages I've saved over the years and I have no sprites. 😩

4. Your personal due date
I want to get it done this year (2025), but by the end of the jam works too!
If I don't finish I'll be so mad, because sure I've learned something, but it's also taken up so much space in my brain I can't do my other projects XD
Alas, I'm just a solo player in this game's creation.

(+2)

Hoping this jam will be the kick in the butt I need to get moving.

1. Working title is "Vampire Ex-Boyfriend" but I hope to come up with something much better.

2. So what would it be like if you thought you were eternally in love with a vampire... then fell out of love? A visual novel/dating sim where you can explore your relationship with your ex or move on to greener pastures with a werewolf or a succubus.

3. Officially started April 2025 (according to my Ren'Py project files, at least). Got interrupted by Spooktober. Trying to find my drive to finish each character's story well.

4. By the end of the jam, though earlier would be nice.

Submitted(+1)

Since it has been clarified we can go for more than one game, I'll gladly go for another. I've made a post about how I'm going for "something more light-hearted for a change" as opposed to a "depressing" game I've been working on but I may actually complete the latter first so here it goes...

Project name: No day 99 (working title)

Genre: Experimental/minimalist visual novel

Description: A young woman starts a new job and she doesn't know if she handle it.

When it started: Somewhere in May of 2025

Personal due date: End of the jam (hopefully, much earlier than that)

Submitted(+1)

Alr then

It's called "Platform Bounce", a game about knowing when to GET OUT OF THERE, I started the project in December 2025, my due date for this is the end of the jam

1. Project name

Defeat the Darkness DATE!

2. Description

It's a high-school AU spinoff of my 2014 RPG Maker isekai comedy webseries, Defeat the Darkness, using several of the same characters to tell the story of a new kid in town who has to make friends or be sent to military school. Angst! Drama! Cute nerds who really want you to be happy! An analysis of how media shapes our perception of the world!

3. When you started the project

I began the Otome Jam script on 2/20/25, two days before my apartment flooded and had to sleep next to an industrial dehumidfier for 46 days. The game was done on time for Otome Jam, however, I wanted to add voice acting and various IRL trouble has continued to push that deadline back in a debilitating fashion.

4. Your personal due date (can be the end of the jam, or earlier)

This Valentine's Day. All the actors recorded Aug-October, I have processed and coded in the lines, it now enters playtesting. Yesterday was the 8th anniversary of DtD's final episode but it's a romance game, I'll settle for Valentine's Day
