Game description
A short arcade-style game featuring a sandpiper.
Theme interpretation
In the game, you play as a sandpiper - known for the humorous act of sprinting away from ocean waves on beaches. The game features the literal waves of the ebbing and flowing tide, as well as the many waves of treasures and valuables spawned.

Goofy camera controls but that was fun!
They're definitely unrefined, yes. Thanks for the feedback - I'll make sure to fix it when I come back to this. Would mouse controls be better? I can't really think of another way to control the camera when not using a controller. Also, I'll be sure to include options to invert the axes.
I think mouse to control the camera would be better.
This game is cool, I love the birds run animation. Simple concept with a fun game loop, I keep being to greedy on my run back up the beach, Very nice job.
Thanks! Glad you had a good time.
I opened the game and walked left and right with the seagull, and I immediately started laughing. This is really cool.
The way you handled the theme is legendary. It turned out to be a really fun game, m_2ne.
You finished the game beautifully. The logic is great: collect and bring it home as quickly as possible without getting caught by the wave.
To increase the playtime, you could do something like give the seagull a little more life time every time it returns to the nest with its hands full.
Anyway, good luck with the jam. If you want to check out my game,

Thank you! I'm happy to see that people are getting a kick out of the presentation, haha. And that's a good suggestion; I'll consider that.
like sandpiper so muuuuuch! the animation is wonderful and full of detail
Thank you! I appreciate you noticing the details.
Very fun game!
And excellent take on the theme!
Had a bit trouble adapting to the camera, maybe an option to invert left and right would be great. But otherwise very fun, and the bird is going so fast aha
Very well done!
Thank you! I noticed that I had some difficulties with adapting to the camera myself haha - an options menu is definitely on my list!
Such a silly little game :) I had lots of fun playing it! I think the only aspect that can be improved is the camera system. Very well done!
Thanks so much! Enabling mouse-based camera controls was something that was on my list, but I ran out of time. I plan to go back to this at some point in the future, and that will be one of the first things I do. I appreciate your feedback!
Couldn't rate yet because of the queue system, but thought I should return the favor on your good feedback!
This was fun and really evoked the imagery of the sandpipers running forward and back with the waves in real life.
I had the impression that there were 3 lives, but after the first game over it felt like it dropped to 1 (I didn't try to recreate this so not sure if bug).
The gold bars are so tempting, but I never ended up being able to bring them back!
Nice assets and best use of the theme I've seen so far!
Thanks so much! I'm happy you had a good time with it. And the game doesn't make use of a life system - the only thing that ends the game is the time limit.
Gotcha, I overlooked that!
The way the bird moves and dies is so funny.
Thanks! They're weird birds in the real world, so I did my best to capture that here.
that bird has SPEED.
really fun concept and I enjoyed playing it. very well made and very polished bird!!! loved it
Thank you so much! I really appreciated your willingness to just do stuff to see what would happen (I especially enjoyed watching you pick up a bunch of stuff and then proceed to IMMEDIATELY sprint into the water). I think that kind of curiosity is a special thing, and it's something that I like to do too. Thanks again for playing!
Thank you for the game, I really enjoyed it 🙂
Very cute game! I like it! :-)
Thanks a ton! I'm grateful for your feedback.
Sandpiper gives me flashbacks of Surf's Up , great choice!
Good interpretation of the theme , nicely executed overall, very smooth gameplay and a loop.
Loved that the bird almost explodes if you get hit by a wave when carrying stuff, made me laugh ( make it even more dramatic, add explosion VFX haha )
Did you know Elijah Wood was in that movie?? I can't believe I never noticed. (Okay, editor's note - I was thinking of Happy Feet. I seem to have gotten my penguin movies mixed up.) And YES, I will absolutely make it more dramatic - I'm planning to revisit this at some point in the future, so your feedback is appreciated!
Well done
Thanks!
Super cute game, and excellent theme interpretation!
Thanks! I had a couple of other ideas for the theme, but the bird one spoke to me the most.
I find funny how the bird flips away on the water
Stuff like that in games always gives me a laugh, so I figured I'd do it too, haha. Thanks for your feedback!
In the end, it was my own Greed that consumed me.
Great concept, brilliantly executed, really enjoyed the simple loop.
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
