Love it - great style. I love the variety of monster styles. Like everyone else, I was thinking up new creepy monster strategies:

  • One that steps closer with every gunshot that misses it.
  • One that splits into 2 when hit.
  • One that just gets pushed back and you have to keep hitting it back until it gives-up.
  • One that pleads with you not to hit it.
  • One that causes your gun to jam.
  • One that explodes into a dark mist that gradually fades.
  • One that is absolutely tiny and takes ages to get to you, but does a lot of damage if he does.

Also, it might be fun to shoot off bits of scenery to knock-out some of the monsters!

Delightfully spooky with some lovely art & animations! I'd love to see this develop a bit further with some more dynamic enemies & player actions :)

The concept, artwork and parallax effect are pretty damn good, but the game really suffers from lack of ambient sound and enemy variety.

If this gets a post-jam update, here are some ideas for new enemies I came up with:

  • Zombie that tries to avoid your gun by moving slowly.
  • Ghost that you have to NOT shoot, only aim at it for a second.
  • Invisible man that's located via spacial audio and a small visual hint.
  • Wide tentacle monster, you have to shoot its head/core, shooting the tentacles only wastes your time.
  • Voodoo doll that alternates between normal and cursed form every X second, you have to shoot it when it's on normal form, if you shoot it while cursed you take damage.

I really like the aesthetics, the pixel art and the parallax effect. Even though the concept of the game is simple, I was surprised to find myself on my toes and screaming whenever I turned around and had a monster all up in my face. Maybe the turning could use a "sprint" or a pivot mode to turn faster.

Great job!!

I like the 1-bit green color scheme. I really like the way enemies are less distinct against the background when further away, but pop into high contrast as they approach you.

Good sound effects that effectively communicate panic. This would have been even more rocking with music.

But God, this is hard! 😂I think the character rotates a bit too slowly, and the gun needs to be positioned a bit too precisely considering that it's a shotgun.

Interesting concept! I loved the way the sprites felt like they were turning while still looking flat that was pretty cool  though it quickly became a matter of simply spinning around continuously until finding a monster which made things a bit dizzying. Would love to see with a bit more variations or mechanics because the core is pretty nice!
