Challenge yourself to create a small MMO game in a month. This jam is open to beginners and experienced gamedevs, but some (a lot of) experience will definitely help. Use this jam to develop systems, to learn networking, or work on anything else you've been wanting to experiment with.
Working in a team is allowed.
Use of generative AI is heavily discouraged, and misses the point of this jam.
Continuing an existing project and finishing it for the jam is ok, but don't just update a finished game for the jam.
Theme will be revealed when the jam starts.
This can be a 2d or a 3d game, or text based if that works for you. The only requirement is that multiple players can play in the same world at the same time and interact with one another in meaningful ways. That could be through combat, socializing, or creating something together.
What makes this really feel like an MMO will change depending on the genre you choose to create, with RPGs being common for MMOs.
- Submissions should ideally be playable in the browser and on Windows.
- Players must be able to set up a dedicated server if there is not one available for the jam.
- The theme is optional but encouraged.
