I would count them as dead if I don't see a content release every 6-9 months. Period. If it takes longer than 9 months then it better be a wonderful AVN. Even then I'm not giving them my money until they improve their dev times.
Yes Devs are only human... but humans go to work every single day and they have to demonstrate a minimal skill level, prove themselves to their bosses and keep their customers happy. Every single day. That or they get fired.
The same applies to devs.
Sure you can take breaks. But when you fall behind on your schedule you have to do overtime too dont you?
All of this boils down to this: If you want to get paid for your art, treat it like a job. Your customers pay you, so they are your bosses.

They have jobs too, and can't dedicate every waking hour to rolling out a new update. Just don't bitch about not getting a new update within a few months and wait like the rest of us
If they have another job, a full time job, they should probably dedicate themselves to that other job and stop writing this AVN.
Or at least actually explain that they have another job so that I know, then I can take it into account. And by that I mean, explain it here on Itch where I can see it rather than expecting me to join their Discord channel or Patreon.
I'm not going to make excuses for them, I'm going to criticize them. They need to be criticized.
Stop enabling bad behaviour.
I dont expect the next release in a few months, I dont expect it at all. I didnt really enjoy this AVN, it was OK I guess.
But every artist should seek to improve and dev time is one factor that all of these guys, with one or two exceptions, seem to think they can just ignore.
