Oh!! I'm happy to reply even if the original thread is old XD;
I believe all you have to do it wait out for 7 days without doing anything necessary to complete the quest. Sleep for 7 days and ignore the warnings from Water mage and Katnir won't interact with you enough to feel sympathy. Good luck with all the bad endings! <3
