So I believe in hypnosis I've just never been able to experience being hypnotized, and I'm sad to say this one didn't work on me either :(

I always try to take this kind of thing at face value and even listen to / obey instruction but my mind can't help but wander. Maybe it's my ADHD.

Early on in the game i just noticed some words fading more slowly than others and not even on purpose, i just started trying to figure out which words they were each time. At some points i was focusing so hard on reading and comprehending the text, I forgot to breathe, which then pulled me back out to make sure i kept breathing.

I may try this again on ADHD meds to see if that makes a difference.

It was nice to do some breathing exercises. Good reminder for me to do those more often.

ADHD medication might help. Hypnosis is, ultimately, a state of focus. ADHD hyperfixation can make it more effective for some folks, but others find it harder to maintain trance.

It sounds like you did have some hyperfixation experiences! Just maybe ones not focused on the things the session was trying to direct you towards.

It’s okay to let your mind wander and just notice the text and notice your reactions to it; “trying too hard” to push your own attention around is a normal way to get less-than-ideal results out of hypnosis. Noticing the responses you have to the words – whether they’re the ones you expect or not! – tends to lead you down an experience of finding wha tyour mind is ready to create for you.
