For anyone wondering, no, this game is NOT dead. The dev has been rewriting the code entirely and the game will continue to get frequent updates once he finish doing that.

Also, its worth saying that,

The Lamia event is bugged

Quiet girl has no content yet

Sword girl has no content yet

Groundskeeper has no content yet

Where'd you get this information about the code rework

The games discord most likely.

Though i don't have it myself im content waiting.

Discord. The dev is active there fairly frequently, answers questions, and streams Q/A. His testers are nearly always on there.

May I ask what has been happening and can you or someone there tell him to update itch users so they don't think he left with their money

Certainly happy to try... I'm not there very often myself, bu t next time I'm in I'll ask him where he's at on it and see if he'll spill some beans. He enjoys streaming, often while he renders, too. I know his testers have all said he found that the newest coding has finally grown to the point that compatibility between chapters was becoming sketchy, and added/new features were causing issues, so he had to go back and re do quite a lot of the game-- which has been rough. One of his senior testers frequents this page and answers questions occasionally as well... I'm just one of his supporters. If I remember, ChristheGriz, or something similar is his tag here on Itch. Helpful fellow.

I used to be a bug tester as well by the name of Steph kitty until discord decided to nuke my account so I've been staying away from discord for awhile and can you ask arc to update the itch people on the issue and stuff

Steph... if you're who I think you are, you're there more often than me... <BONK>... this is Pady, lol. Angelo knows more than I do about it.. =P

I'm kitty lol just a fan of Steph hehe

Depends on what they update and rework and if its renpy then yes most likely. Major changes with renpy the engine itself or the code or both can cause issues. Its just how renpy is and not necessarily the devs fault.

He's been working with super old code and I think the code decided to say it's time to be unstable and crashed everything

So basically he's remaking the game and it'll take another 6 months just to see a big update before he moves the story forward another year wait...so close to the end of the main story...

So if hes remaking it does that mean we will have to start a new game?

That will depend, but no it shouldnt. I myself, am thinking of actually starting a new game once it does drop, as I've forgotten many details of the story and would like to see it all in a fresh coat of paint. But theoretically, you should be able to continue on as if nothing happened

No continuing from where you are currently. Full restart.

Yes. Full restart from the beginning. Arc himself has said so.

So what date this new update going to be on?

When Arc is comfortable enough to post it. He's been going through the beginning of the game code and reworking it from scratch. Years of spaghetti code have finally caught up to him.
