I took part in Velox Fabula 2 two years ago.
As the name suggests, Velox Turbo is short, really short.
I didn't have time to polish anything. I barely had time to test my game: I thought the controller was working, but it wasn't. There are mismatches between the characters and the dialogue. Argh! And, to top it all off, I 'finished' the English 'translation' at the last minute. And now, I'm finding mistakes in every sentence. I bet it was torture for those who tested my game! Thanks to them for going the extra mile.
On the other hand, I'm quite happy with my initial idea. I didn't have enough time to develop the concept and there are some awkward elements even in the French version. It's a very specific one, but I'll keep playing around with the idea.
I gave all the games a try, and to be honest, most of them need some work on the polish too. But there's not much we can do about that. However, that makes it tricky to evaluate: should we rate them as they are or rate their potential?
At the end of the day, the two games that gave me the most immersive experiences (and in very different styles) were The Servers Are Shutting Down and Voidseekers.
See you in two years?
