This was a fun game. I played enough to get all achievements, except winning 5 times. I found the best group for me was all farmers. The run where I won I had 14 villagers, over 70k gold, had gone a distance over 500, and level was over 80. I had 3 items, 2 of which were gold magnets, and a healing ring. My strategy was to gather villagers when it was safe enough, especially early on, and try to get a healing ring, then just run away. My level up was plus to gold farming and max HP. Early on I alternated, then I favored HP, followed by gold. It would have been nice to see your max HP.
I found that I only really died from the ranged attacks hitting in a group, which made stopping to get things tough. I often died trying to stop for something and then a swarm of gargoyles showed up. Early on I wasn't sure how the gold was used, and initially thought the chests were supposed to give you gold, rather than acting like a shop where you pay to open them. It was unexpected that gold was also your experience, and when not using the farmers, made collecting it more important. It would be good to add some info on some of the game basics, such as paying to open the chests, and gaining XP.
The upgrade options were good. They felt appropriate to the classes and useful. I did find myself generally sticking with mostly a single type of unit and focusing on their upgrades. I didn't find the knights to be all that useful due to their short range. They did not seem powerful enough to make up for that disadvantage, though that may have been my perception from not using them enough and finding a good way to use them. Maybe getting more keeping the group closer and extending their range would have paid off, but I never got far enough with them to reach that point. I really liked the mage AoE ability and did a run with all mages increasing the size of their attacks until it covered much of the screen. I probably could do a winning run with them, as long as I was more careful about going after chests later on. The archers were also good for me, and were the class I most often favored, partly due to being one you get at the start. Their range and high rate of fire were great, especially if you could get the split arrow.
All around a pretty good game. I spent far more time playing this than I had expected to.
