I’ve taken to comparing the Linux desktop to an indie game funnily enough.
It can be a little janky but it’s a work of passion and you really feel that in the end product in a world where every operating system is just adware now.
There’s also just cool shit over here you aren’t going to see elsewhere. Well cool if you like filesystems, virtualization, networking, or other nerd shit. 😌
