backup all ur sav*.rvdata2 and GameLona.ini
and GameMods.ini and mods if u are using any.

and make sure u read updatelog between ur last game ver and new ver
and make sure u doing it right to patch ur save.

and abandon ur hope if it said its out supported in update log,
