I really enjoyed this one. Incredible work. It felt very polished too. The movement felt good and snappy. I like the crt shader, but I'd personally prefer it like 25% less curvy, but thats nit-picking. The puzzles were really fun. I kind of wish I knew what spots would trigger a geese spawn so i could strategize more, but at the same time, it was very quick and easy to reset so you could easily explore and learn the level. Just all around great work.

I like this more than I was expecting. When I read the game page for this I kind of expected this to basically just be an mtg clone. Mtg is definitely in its dna, but I think you made some great changes/innovations to make your game unique and give it a ton of potential for depth and expansion.
Like others have said, you definitely need some more feedback from the game about what's happening when you and the opponents do stuff. I didn't get at first that you could play cards and attack with your ducks. I think you might have mentioned knowing that you need to balance tweak, which I agree with. I was never really in any danger of losing, and that meant that my shield and heal cards were kind of dead. And that, in turn, kind of meant that which cards I'd play every turn were mostly pre-decided.
I'd also like to call out the art. It. Looks. Great. The mana symbols and sword/shield/etc icons have a great hand drawn look. The ducks looks very good and have real personality. The trees and buildings in the background are very solid. Awesome job.
For the game jam I'd love to see like a touch more feedback from the game, a slash of balance, and another battle would be cool, even if it was the same enemy but with a few different cards or a different ai behavior, but I know that one is a real stretch for an in-jam thing.
If you expanded this and decided to make a full game, the thing I'd be anticipating that I'm most excited about is your team selection. If you can choose your party and maybe level them up or get new abilities or equipment so that they have cool static abilities or provide different mana types depending on who or what classes you have in your group, that would get me hooked. It provides a sort of list building outside of the deck building that I'd find really intriguing.
I tried downloading this for windows but couldnt get it to run for me. Might be a my computer issue. So I played it in browser. I had some pretty bad frame-rate issues since its a 3d game in browser. So I don't think thats unexpected at all. But even though the frame rate was laggy, the game still seemed to be running fine, like all of my move and aim inputs were being processed as I'd expect.
I think my favorite part of the game is the look. Ducks and geese look great. The environment looks awesome. The gun shooting looked sweet and felt good. It took a while for the geese to spawn so I wasnt sure if i was missing something but they eventually exploded onto the scene. I did have what I think is a bug for the whole playthough. My gun just fired continuously the whole time without me clicking. Not like 100 times a second, but probably once a second like after a short cooldown. I managed to kill the geese and duck the King Goose. If I had one game-play not critique, but suggestion, I think getting a dodge-roll would be nice. Not even to get dodging invincible frames or anything like that, but to react better to the King Goose attacks. Im not sure what the eggs do, Im guessing just a points thing or maybe a currency for a more expanded game post-jam.
All around, had a great time. Really impressed with how much you got done in the time.
I really enjoyed this one. Had a good time. I think I went to wave 14 until I just rambo'd in and got myself killed. I had some stuttering but it was only when the geese were loading in, so that didnt really impact the gameplay for me. Obviously there could be more variety and enemy types/ai and all that in the future, but I cant believe you got a 3d shooter done in the time. My only real balance critique is the rifle. Once I picked one up off a dead goose I just killed them all from outside their aggro range. Boosts were fun. I weirdly didnt realize I could go in the water in the middle until I got a swim speed bonus, then that became my go-to when i was in between waves and wanted to make sure i was close to wherever they were going to come from.
Thanks for playing and for the feedback!
Yeah, I discovered the run through walls strategy and increased the penalty for hitting walls, but I think I need to bump it up a little more. I also didn't make a main mechanic clear in game. Flapping and diving increase your speed slightly and when you're just gliding your speed is slightly decreasing due to drag. So you need to actively flap and dive and maybe take a different route that gives you the vertical room to do those if you're almost caught up to.
Like all devs, #IfIHadMoreTime, I'd like to introduce extra mechanics like egg pickups that you can shoot back at the goose, being able to defeat seagulls when diving, extra enemy types, etc etc.
So glad you beat chillcore too. It was my favorite way to play. I'll have to fix the music issue and add in some SFX after the jam. Thanks for the report.
Loving this game. Going to play it again tonight. On my first playthrough, I'm not super sure if I hit a soft lock or the end of the current game content. I got the black wing first, and the second one I got what I think was a new beak gun and when I took it my beak went back to normal so I didn't have a gun and couldn't go through the glass door.
Love the theme, love the unique idea. The game feels really good. Jump and double jumping and the camera following you smoothly feels great. I was a little confused by how to do wasd + space + shift + use my mouse but I couldn't notice a difference when using dash, so I just didn't use that.
