I agree it is the current way of doing it and perhaps the best yet, but I wonder if there is angles to it that wasn't thought of. I personally do my best to play and share daily and support financially when I can, but I don't feel like it's enough. I want to do more, but I don't know how

I found this which prompted I haven't tested but maybe it's legit! https://www.instagram.com/reel/DPcwhtbkd0e/?igsh=dG04d2NodzlteTU4
Very fun, and i love the graphics! Reminds me so much of battle block theater. I do have some feedback if you do not mind:
- I think the player could walk faster, it feels very slow for me once you are in game and a walking animation even if its just the sprite jumping could bring the visuals on the next milestone.
- I love the combat mechanic, but i wish it was perhaps a little more explained, what is the difference of hitting the arms versus the head kind of thing? Also i think i would make the parts that can be attacked more clear, maybe with an outlined? Or some kind of effects.
Awesome work!
This is for sure a great game! i enjoyed playing a lot. The graphic is great and the use of a comic book opening is original. However i do have some feedback if you don't mind.
- The player is too low on screen and the camera following when falling should be faster.
- There is some screen size issues with menues and text. Since this is unity i suggest scale by screen size and then make the canvases scale by pixel 1920x1080. This fixes it for me everytime.
- Attacks feels slow because they aren't loopable, I feel like we should be able to go from the second attack back to the first.
Besides this, fantastic work!
Ho if that is the case you don't necessarily have to feel obliged, I am simply giving feedback 😅 I have my own share of school assignments that I published recently and honestly they are flawed to the core. Some I don't even have the source code for it anymore 😂 looking forward to your progress in game development!
I like the idea of makinga more complete game out of Flappy Bird with diversed mechanics, however in this instance we end up playing only in the top of the screen. Perhaps spawning much less trees and creating other environmental hazards instead like hunters shooting at 45° angle or something.
Great work!
This was fun! I wish there was more.
here is some feedback if you don't mind it:
- If the game expands, making the trash a reloading per scene asset would be nice, alongside having a randomness added for the drop.
- It would be nice to have a challenge, the game currently feels more like a short adventure then a zelda like. which prompted is what you tagged as, but it feels like it want to be more action oriented
- The dialogue on walking on it annoying at times, the crossroad kept poping in my screen when i didnt wanted it
Hope this helps, and great work!
If you dont mind feedback, i think if would want to push this game on another level (which i believe this game almost achieve) it would be nice to draw more the contrast between "good" and "bad" decisions for the dolls. What i mean is more dark your decisions, more dark are the next items and the environnement. Because i replayed again to test it more, and even if i like the variety in the result, the gameplay and feel of the environement feels too similar.
I try to purposefully make a "evil gothic" decision route:

The graphics are great, the game is fun, even if i wish it longer. I have some feedback if you'll allow it:
- Please allow us to skip dialogue or at least restart on a moment where the dialogue doesn't start. I struggled with the pipe problem, took me 3 tries and i was spamming that space bar to skip the dialogue XD
Honestly besides that there isnt anything to point out. Great work.
True if you search for it, but i looked by curiosity and some people landed on my profile and clicked on my school assignements instead of my games. Which prompted isn't necessarily a bad thing but i wished they would have seen the actual stuff first because first impressions matter i thing.
My solution was to embed a game in my school assignements despite them being totally unrelated.
The game looks promising. I felt it was lacking some things if you dont mind some feedback:
- The "shield" should change color when you attack, its not easy to know what is the right timing.
- It lacks an attack as well, my character has a sword yet i couldn't attack. I felt confused when the game started.
Overall great work! keep it up
Hi,
Perhaps there is already a feature for this, but i recently uploaded a bunch of bad school projects i had made back in the day and now it is the first thing that shows on "creator of" when i click on my profile.
Its not a big deal i just thing there could be a way to either:
- Order its display.
- Toggle projects seen on it.
- Enable that profile are redirected directly to creator's page.
Thank you!
Agreed, as I have mentioned I am daily going to the most-recent and leaving feedback whenever I can and sharing to people that may be interested. I just sometimes feel like I could do more to support indie creators overall but I don't know what or how.
And for people able to support financially, I also think it's less frequent, but that is perhaps just an impression from deductions of the overall market/world currently.
Yes I totally agree, but it circles back to what I am saying. how can we support said art since financial is rarely an option anymore. I want to support artists and creators, but I feel like the means to support them so they can continue doing it are less and less options. You see what I mean?
Edit: I am not saying everyone should support. Everyone has their reasons. I am trying to brainstorm if there is any means to support creators I haven't or we haven't thought of collectively.
Hello everyone, I am posting here because it's a question that has been going around my head for a while. I'll try to keep it short.
Not too long ago, people were able to afford much more with the money they had. Buying many games, supporting many creators they liked. However today it feels like even basic things like fast food is treated like a financially irresponsible decision from how expensive it is.
Is it fair to ask players to bare the financial weight of supporting games on itch? Is there anything else they could do differently? Or devs could do differently? Ads isn't really an option in my opinion because it rely on visibility and independent creators often doesn't have that. (And they are annoying to everyone)
Personally, I have bought a few assets, gave some tips, and still feel like it probably didn't make a difference. I tried to be consistently playing games on the most recent page and give feedback, but is it enough? What is enough?
So in other words, is there anything we can do creators/players to make it more viable environment to all? Am I alone feeling that way?
