Why can't I see the Images/Pictures?

I never understood why the Pictures/Images never show up but instead an Icon shows up in its place instead, please somebody tell me how to reveal the pictures/Images in the dialog....

Hey I love the game so far, but I feel like it could be even better if you can move into more people instead of three...(my favorite character so far is Catalina and I would Love to move into Her place). I don't know if you can do that but I would Love to explore more options and That would make the game Much More Fun for me and possibly others.
