First, a little mood music.
Something is wrong. The rain falls outside in sheets. A train rumbles past the apartment window, mixing with the sound of thunder. Somewhere, you can hear a crowd laughing. You wiggle your nose, twitch your ears. Something is wrong, here. Your brother [XXXX] is missing, and Bob the Dog is preparing his nightly sermon next door. They used to pray, back home. They'd hold hands. How can you just sit there? There's something wrong.
Welcome to The Cottontails, a litform LARP inspired by David Lynch’s surreal, atmospheric, and disturbing short film Rabbits (2002). As in the short film, you will take on the role of one of a cadre of anthropomorphic lagomorphs living in an apartment, anxiously awaiting some arrival, some event, some apotheosis. Is this Purgatory?
Oh, they may also be living in a three-camera sitcom.
Players take on the role of the three (3) Cottontail siblings, who come equipped with goals and relationships. They will enact scenes, which come with outlines to work through.
What players will not have at the start is language. In keeping with Lynch’s film, the characters will speak to and at each other, and out to the audience, but what they say will feel disjointed, fragmented, surreal, and random. Interactions may sometimes make sense. Usually they will not. Under the supervision of a GM, lines will be cut out, folded up, and – appropriately enough for a story about rabbits – pulled from a hat, and selected again at random from pockets before speaking.
What will it all mean this time?

erely Players is a theatrical RPG in development for 3-6 players and a Master of Revels, where players take on the role of Shakespearean actors performing a play with life or death stakes for the King and Queen of Fairies and their court.
