oh awesome! im excited to try it out :)

great little platformer but as everyone is saying its too hard :( I think the difficulty could be fixed if the jump was just a little bit higher because it doesn't feel good if you only just make it to a platform and have to push to actually get on there especially in that last boss fight. while it doesn't fit the theme that well the bosses I think do fit it very well and I saw you said you focused on gameplay more than implementation of the theme and I think that paid off because you have all the core platformer vibes perfect (apart from maybe slightly too short a jump :p).

overall very well done I think this is one of the best of the whole jam :)

i really like the idea of a "make you're own" map in games but I feel like its pretty hard to do. this games such an interesting idea and the procedural generation was done pretty well, but at the start I didn't really know what to do? i eventually found the campfire and found out that you had to collect the items and stuff, but maybe it would work a bit better if the player started at the campfire and had to go out to collect the items with a slightly easier map structure to make the map drawing easier as I found myself not actually using the draw map function until I had found the campfire and then after I had collected all the items there was just an x on the campfire anyway.

awesome idea tho and keep up the good work :)

Omg its so tough! haha. as much as I love rhythm games I am absolutely terrible at them so some difficulty changes would be nice :p I like that art tho and the concept is fun, but they are kinda fighting with fireballs as well as dance... i bet its a friendship fireball and completely on theme :p

such an interesting idea! it feels pretty unpolished (normal for game jam games, my last one just broke in the middle :p) but I really dig the concept of attacks dealing damage to some stats and healing others. keep at it id love to see where this idea can go!

Cool game! I had a very similar Idea at the start (which evolved into FURGLE! with my team) so its cool to see it in action. the enemy was cool with the interesting AI that tries to be a certain distance away was really cool but it felt maybe slightly too random as to which direction it was going to go in, maybe there's a pattern and I needed more time dut it didn't feel like it. i loved most of the levels as it was a simple idea. Still, the boxes were a nightmare because I never felt like I could hit them when I wanted to, and it just kinda felt like luck. Sometimes, if you hit them on the side they would move backward. I stopped playing on the third box level where the box was behind the overheated wire cause it would just take forever to do i think.

overall though i think it was great!! after a lil bit of polish this game would be fricken awesome :).

Oh and i feel like i should mention that the room with the big flashing wires was just too hard to look at and might need a photosensitivity warning?

A very very well designed puzzle game! Great job!! i love puzzle games but I'm terrified of actually making one because designing the puzzles seems difficult to do well to keep the right difficulty of the game and you did it perfectly! You also incorporated the theme pretty well too imo because I was often scared of the slimes until I fed them and then became best friends haha. one bit of advice is maybe a bit more variation on the objects in the levels? the slimes themselves were perfect with the colouring to know exactly what they did after you learnt but I found that in some levels the boxes and the door were kinda hard to spot as they looked very very similar to the rest of the level, perhaps that was intentional? but in most cases it didn't feel like it was. that's all of my notes though well done!!

great thinking to have a visual novel for the theme. I didn't know there was a dialogue plugin for godot! seems handy for a multitude of situations

great concept and good execution!i really like good and interesting movement in games so this really hit the spot for me, I found it kinda tough at first, partly because I somehow completely missed the axe and the sword so I couldn't get really far :p (dw I found them). i think the pogoing needs a slight touch up so if you're aiming down it stays down (but I might've just been doing it wrong :p) and a lil bit of coyote time would be nice too but those are nitpicks.

i really couldn't figure out how to get to the lever for that second door, I know where it is but the jump just seems impossible which was kinda disappointing :(.

Also, don't be sorry for "bad quality" the quality was great! (better than some fully released games...) and its a game jam so be proud you could release a playable game, keep at it :)

awesome game!!! it was just the right amount of stressful in the best possible way with needing to quickly swap between the different tools for the right job. i found it pretty tough at level 3 when jerry was first introduced but then I got used to him and it became even more fun! one little thing I found was that the buttons for the tools didn't always work? like I saw a golden note and tried to click the guitar but I had to click it like 5 times then the note was gone and jerry sabotaged me which was pretty annoying, I also didn't always know what I was doing right/wrong but I'm sure that would come with time to learn. Also also! i loved the fact that the music playing (which was pretty great too might I add) would get quieter as you moved away from a concert! such a cool touch! it would be nice if the camera movements were a bit smoother but that might just be a personal preference thing :)

great job and keep up the good work!! :)

haha thanks that was the goal for the art and SFX :)

yeah I personally found It pretty tough too, if I get some time id like to go back and tweak some of the movement to make it feel a bit better. (I also kept on forgetting about the shell...)

thanks for playing!

sucks that you ran out of time :( but props to you for still uploading what you did! creep scope is a heck of a thing and good on you guys for trying out something new even if it didn't work out in the end :) stick with it!

I agree with Erockandroll too id love to know what the original game idea was!

I like it! its a pretty satisfying gameplay loop and strangely addicting. although  I do think it would be better if you could see the whole area because I found myself just searching for resources a lot of the time rather than managing my resources which I feel is the more interesting part of the game.

cool game tho!

thanks Sapphire :)

thank you thank you! i was trying to channel "bad ms paint" but it came slightly better than expected :p (and sufficiently adorable) and the sound effects were honestly one of the most fun parts of the game to do! haha. yeah... if it makes your feel any better I also found the game quite difficult and I wanted to make the movement better but we ran out of time to sort that out :(

thanks so much for playing our game!!

oh i never would have guessed you were not a puzzle guy it was made so well!

adorable little game! i love the art and the gameplay was kinda catchy too.

Great little metroidvania platformer!! im a sucker for metroidvanias so as soon as I got the wall jump I knew I had to complete it. i did get a lil bit annoyed at the waterfall level and only realised the hidden block after looking at these comments... But other than that amazing game! i love the little squash the character has when you jump, just makes it feel so much better. the movement was very responsive and the art was quite cute too. well done!!

seems interesting but i never got a lose condition? i tried three times and got the spooky sounds each time but never a monster or anything. i liked the atmosphere though :)

okay cool i might giveit another go then

I can see the vision! but i think it still needs some work, like the hitboxes don't feel quite right, a lil more feedback on getting hit, the ranged guys could use some better telegraphing (like a charge up or something) , and a tweak to the second level so getting past that last snowman guy is actually doable! but the idea is there and I see it, keep it up dude :) also props to adding pogoing was kinda difficult to pull of but felt cool when you did

cool little idea! i really liked the art and the music and the whole vibe in general and I really like the idea of souls having to write poetry to get back to the mortal realm. sucks that the CRT effect added extra colours cause I quite liked that effect personally :(

Great game! i really like the art and the music. I found the bell throwing such a cool idea the only issue I had with it was that the controls were upside down when moving to the opposite side of the bird? not a major thing just something I noticed :) Cool game though! wish I didn't get softlocked :(

neat little game  :) i really like the animation of the sword coming towards you when you use the ability although I was kinda scared when a sword came rushing at me out of nowhere! haha. i also liked the swords to the side spawning next to you instead of out front was a nice touch.

fun and funny little game! well done!

Very well done! the roguelike platformer mix is such a cool idea and you managed to pull it off very well while also incorporating the offer system of getting hp for debuffs and taking hp for buffs I love it. one small thing I found was that some of the spike hitboxes felt slightly too big? that could just be me being bad at games though :p also well done adding a bit of coyote time, I woulda never thought of it under the time pressure. Great job overall!

cool little game! you probs already know of the purple squares... but I did find what I think is a bug in that the hitboxes of the enemies weren't quite right as in if I shotand managed to hit the other corner of the purple box the enemy would still die? also it would be nice if there was a sound/animation to show the gun was reloaded. but all in all a cool game! i liked the animation of when you offer the things to the shrine in the middle and I managed to get 20 points :)

amazing puzzle game! i found the art slightly simplistic but it did its job and having it be too complex would've hindered the feel. The puzzles were designed so well! that last one I felt was quite tricky but in the best way and I did manage to figure it out so cant have been too bad :) Well done overall though and I hope to see more puzzles from you :)

out of interest, how do you go about making puzzles? i love puzzle games and would like to make my own someday but I have no clue where to even start about actually making interesting puzzles.

i was quite confused with what to do? even after reading the description I still felt unsure if there even was an exit (I see now from some of these comments that there likely was and I just missed it along with the cutscene :( ) so It kinda felt like I was just wandering aimlessly. I really like the effect that was on the splash screens where the block text would fade in fade out and I wish you had used the same effect in game as the light radius I think it would have looked really cool. i didn't love it but its likely I'm not the intended audience :) still well done and hope you stick with it because I can see a potential:)

(1 edit)

Beautiful game! i love the artstyle and use of the two colour theme. I found the jumping and movement very smooth too. i was a tad confused as to what I needed to do especially when I accidentally went through a door and I was in a completely new place haha, but I figured out pretty quickly what I needed to do. some of the platforms were kinda tricky to see but not impossible. i wish I coulda read the whole poem thing at the end but I got to the top and it just ended :( amazing game though! well done!

thank you! yeah i think we all were trying to be pretty conservative with the scope  because we are all still pretty unsure of how long things will take to complete :) great learning experience though!

cool game dude! my only note is that the controls felt kinda weird? i feel like the classic w - up, d - right, s - down, and a - left would have felt more intuitive? but perhaps the current controls were intended to incite more panic when zoms are rushing towards you and you forget how to walk...

no no i think the difficulty worked as we could see the main idea in the earlier levels anyway :)

awesome game! i really liked the art, the music and sounds, the fishing minigame, and the bosses!but I did find that quite quickly the game pretty grindy, but I stuck with it and managed to offer to the crab and the clam boss then as I was fishing to get that last pearl the fish ran off screen and didn't wanna come back :( also of note id like a chance to offer the items and then fight the bosses as well, and some of the written values were different from what they actually cost, as in, the pearl said it cost 47 fish but only took 40? not the end of the world but wanted to let you know :) great  job though! id love to see more of this!

This game was beautiful! both the art and the vibes :) I love the message of fertilizing a positive atmosphere and the combination of web pages and growing plants is so unique and cute! i will always play more of little games like this that just give you a happy feeling :)

great game! i love the music and the art is adorable. i found a couple of the levels pretty tricky (namely envy and pride) but I did forget about the slow down time mechanic! which may have helped me. i liked the form switching to force you to slow down when picking up the offering.

Thanks for playing! I agree! im so happy to have worked with our artist they are a great friend and an amazing artist and animator :). thanks! I'm happy with what this jam has taught me and excited for the next :)

thank you! all props to our wonderful artist :)

Thanks for playing! Yeah we had a pretty clear image from the start so glad to see it was conveyed well :)
