What a ride, this was a hell of a read. It isn't to often that reading something makes me get up out of my chair with shock. I love how in Wilma's head we get especially as the fantasy of everything breaks down. I'm still not totally sure what to make of the ending but I also feel like the story couldn't have ended any other way. Amazing work

Thank you for hosting the jam! This jam's been one of my first real forays into doll and kigu stuff, and it's safe to say that I'm hooked.
I don't think I could say what makes a doll different from a human, but I think it's fun to leave it up to anybody's interpretation. I think perhaps her emotions and that desire for independence are what make her "human" despite being made of wood. Thank you for the kind words!
Amazing story and craftsmanship! Though I wasn't really around for it, I feel like you capture the era perfectly. I'm an outsider to kig for the most part, but this definitely hit the trans angle perfectly. I feel like most trans girls I know have fantasized about being an anime girl, this is just a somewhat literal next step for that. You made something really wonderful, the ending really resonated with me. I hope the two of them ended up transitioning.
Love love love this! I haven't played any of your other games but your style is incredibly unique. I'm really impressed with the visuals and writing. Some of the descriptions near the end made me physically wince. All that being said, the story was so confusing and I loved it. Keep up the good work!!!
Oh god this really hit close to home. I feel like you really captured a lot of the nuances of being trans and queer on the margins of society. I see a lot of myself in basically all of the characters in the game. At some points it almost felt like I was seeing scenes from my life played out on screen.
Your writing is fucking excellent. Everybody felt like a real person with their own personality. In a lot of games with a lot of characters I'll start getting people confused, but that just straight up didn't happen here. I also somewhat unconsciously attached people I know irl to these characters, which made certain scenes hit way harder for me.
I also really liked the way the text boxes are layed out, I don't think I've ever seen that done in a visual novel before, and you execute it masterfully. It definitely helps to have a lot of the text conversations laid out like actual text messages, and I like how you can move everything around to better organize it.
Also the soundtrack, I love it! Is there anywhere that I could find it online?
I said this about another one of your games, but I find your work to be aspirationally good. It captures the essence of being a weird druggy puppy and all the trappings that come with that. I look forward to see whatever you and the folks on ur team work on next!!!
This game is amazing, and all the more impressive being a first time work. Your writing captures Eleanor's Anhedonia really well, along with the emotions that come up in the later scenes as well. I feel like it's a good subversion of the whole "Getting swept off your feet by a scary outlaw" trope in the best way possible. Keep up the good work! I really hope you make more games, seriously.
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm glad you found it refreshing to see her think maybe there isn't a right way to feel about her situation. I feel in many stories you just don't see that level of conflicting feelings depicted when that's often the reality of a situation. I'm also appreciative that you mentioned Tina not prying too much into things. That was very intentional, as again, I feel like those feelings of not wanting to talk about things aren't often respected in a lot of narratives involving this sort of things. I'm glad that you liked my game, thank you so much for taking the time to leave a comment :)
I don't think I've ever audibly gasped while playing a visual novel before but this game did multiple times for me (I'm sure you can guess at which scenes). I hate how much I relate to Ambrose but more than anything I feel incredibly bad for her. I wish I could give that poor girl a hug and tell her it's not her fault. Some fucked up part of me feels like her story couldn't have ended any other way than it did, sadly. I also really liked the theme of Greek myth and tragedy, I'm not to well versed in it so I had to do a bit of googling after I finished and you do a really good job of tying it into the story.
I haven't played many of the games for the jam yet, but this is by far the most intense one. You have such a distinctive style with both your art and prose, and it was on full display in this. I'm gonna be thinking about this one for a while (hell, it's been months and I'm still thinking about Heatwave too lol). Keep up the good work.
I appreciate how cryptic this game was! Having just finished it, I feel like I only scratched the surface of what there is to the story, and am already thinking about rereading it. The art is really amazing, and the dialogue choices were fascinating. I liked both of the characters and appreciated the weird sort of chemistry they had. I love how after their first conversation is immediately fast fowards to three years later. This is really impressive for a first vn!
This game is amazing!!! The characters are really wonderful, and the world is utterly fascinating. I think it's good that not everything is explained, but we get just enough details that the rest is left up to imagination.
The scenes inside the kaiju also reminded me a lot of Mystery Flesh Pit with the aphrodisiac pools and working as a meat cutter.
Keep up the good work! This is the first submission from the jam I've played, and it's left a hell of an impression.
God what a trip. This is definitely one of the most intense games I've played in several different ways. I guess you could say I got the better of the two endings, but I still feel really bittersweet about it. On one hand I found it comforting that she perhaps has some sort of security now, but I couldn't help but feel that perhaps something more sinister was at play. I related a lot to Ines' struggles and found it really easy to put myself in her shoes. Great work!
