It was such a tender experience to build the doll while the room came together. Every element of this game was so intricate and shiny and elegant without being superfluous... Really looking forward to anything this team cooks up next. Go make some dolls!!

One of the appeals of doll characters is that despite their shape they are decidedly non-human. Often they are contrasted with human characters and one bridges the gap to become the other. With this story, I enjoyed seeing an edge case: a doll who lags behinds its peers in growing to fit a human world, one who struggles with the idea of transformation in a way that mirrors our own reality. Great work!

I was about halfway through reading this when it suddenly clicked that it wasn't just a spot-on stylistic parody but also an actual TTRPG that you can actually play. Looks SO good, the text is extremely funny, and I'm really looking forward to playing it with you soon!! And finally, the sequel to Azone is here: Bzone, of course.

Like when the light hits a window and it becomes a mirror

Your art is so charming and it seems like you had an amazing trip! I loved reading this. I had a similar experience in the radio kaikan azone store -- I think azone has the best sculpts out of any of the big brands right now. The scenes from/of the trains were my favorite. When I saw that hankyu rail maroon color I immediately felt homesick for when I lived in Kobe lol

To read this story through its frames
of magic dark and spells arcane,
of love and strong companionship,
of small ball-jointed fingertips,

with color so appropriate
and composition consummate,
and charming rhymes and sparks of flair
like strands of flaxen dolly hair,

To read a story such as this
Does heal me more than flowb'ry fizz.

(stunning work, elise!)

Really fun romp through a world that is exceptionally well-realized within the brief playtime. Each member of the team was clearly firing on all cylinders. Swordmistress route was my favorite and I thought her facial expressions in the dialogue scenes were really funny. Sorry to the titular errant knight, always being thrown around and harassed, but I think she'd be much less happy as a court eunuch.

Overall style was striking, starting with the general design of the game through to the UI and illustration, leading to a cohesive feel that amplified the shocking nature of the story. I'll echo the other commenters that the hand... skinning (?) passage was a standout, but I enjoyed the whole thing. The metal bat striking sound will haunt me forever!

I want to read the wiki page about Bug and become a lore guy for a while.

I made ultimate citron and took her to the #14 switchyard in bellows falls vermont i hope that's cool

smh... shame on her

Holy crap, fully voiced! To wrangle a big team like this together for a 6-week jam is astounding.

It was fun to contrast Jasmine's instant change in faith with Calla's slow descent, coming to acknowledge her own sway and power. With the story ending where it did, I wonder how much further she would go? Everything she did was ultimately to the benefit of the faith and kingdom, but the her changes seemed to reach into personal relationships with her court, too. Thanks for sharing.

First story was intense, pulpy, and abrasive. Second one was simply beautiful. Both were extremely well written. Different planets, same universe. Thanks for sharing.

I think you just wrote the next season of The Rehearsal. Cool concept, and the art was really cute. Thanks for sharing.

As Let extracted (interpreted?) the memories from her corpses, I was left wondering if she truly believed that her body and soul were separate entities.

Her attachment and reaction to the story of a love lost made me think this claim was always more of a coping mechanism, or a way to keep Rain from worrying. I thought, if Let didn't believe her body and soul to be wholly linked, at least they were made from some Miltonic materia prima: separate, maybe, but ultimately of the same stuff.

A lot to think about here. The visuals were striking. The conceit of moving up and down rungs of memory is ambitious, but you stuck the landing. Extremely well done. Thank you for sharing.

Man... Lynnie is such a tough character to swallow. The dynamic between the two is biting, in the rip-your-flesh-off kind of way; it hurts to see Mel treated that way, but of all the things Lynnie might be deserving of, betrayal isn't one. I had a pit in my stomach during the transformation scene, wondering if there was going to be some real assumption of responsibility, a come to Jesus moment. Well...

It's incredibly hard to articulate this feeling, but the overall affect in the prose and the art come together perfectly. Every element gels into one cohesive work. I greatly enjoyed this, thanks for sharing.

So glad to finally play this. Like many others, I was anticipating something interesting as we watched you build the poker simulation. And that itself is an incredible achievement. But the period setting was a welcome surprise. It felt lived in, and each of the characters brought life into it. Audrey was a great mystery. I had a great time working through the endings and am very much looking forward to your next ambitious project!

The worldbuilding was fascinating. Cece was fascinating. I was trying to guess what the Angel/Ruby's deal was the whole time, and you did such a good job at holding attention while whittling down the possibilities. The somewhat irreverent and contemporary tone of the dialogue contrasted with the Victorian Edwardian backdrop in an interesting way. The handmade dolls look great and take the visuals to another level. I REALLY enjoyed this. Thanks for sharing.

Said what there was to say and then stopped: beautiful.

As an adult, you might have forgotten how damn scary internet creepypastas used to be. Reading them on the family computer while awake well past your bedtime. Do you want to remember?

Thanks for sharing.

A tender and delicately balanced essence of toxic yuri, handled with finesse.

In many ways, Sun does drag Laura down, and there were times when I wanted to grab them by the shoulders and shake some sense into them. But Laura does love much of what Sun hates about themself. And Runa is an instigator with a vested interest in generally Making Things Worse. At the same time, they show some warmth to Sun when they're at their lowest, and some of that compassion extends to Laura, even if just as someone Sun cares about.

Angels and demons and such aesthetics are always appealing to me. Art was very cute. Thanks for sharing.

Twisted and clever. I loved the way every plot beat looped back on itself by the end with just enough slack to tempt you to pull on it again... The character sprites were cute and I think the colors and knot GUI were utilized to great effect -- actually, I thought the metaphor was going to be one and done, but it kept coming back and it kept sinking deeper.

A tale so messy that it's clear the author has an intense clarity of mind to keep track of the moving pieces. Very well done.

Toxic yuri can save the world. Maybe even the universe.

Very funny. Refreshing to see something comedic from this jam (notwithstanding the implications of 'uranium gays' being hunted down for their bedroom activities... I think there might be something more to this!)

Anyways: really enjoyed this, thanks for sharing.

Thank you for reading! Additional updates to come from both of us on the game's background, technical process(es), inspirations in art and literature, and more.

Wonderful, loved the writing. Both endings felt so realistic, even in contrast with one another. It was easy to feel for Lira; it was clear that, in her mind, there were no other options... I'm glad that Lute could find the will and means to help her out in both scenarios, even if the outcomes were different.

Oh, the fake-out was so good! I was really wondering how Eden would turn out in the end.

So dark and cold. It was refreshing. I especially enjoyed the quality of the prose.

First of all, Rue is really cute.

Anyways, I love self-guided stories like this: searching through metadata and codecies and whatnot to reveal a bigger picture is quite a novel approach, and when done with care as seen here, it's captivating. In this game, the concept is taken further with both the player character and 'guide' themselves being part of the narrative. The puzzle box structure was immersive and it was fun to unravel (or, at times, become wrapped up in) the mysteries at the heart of the story.

Sound design, voice acting, and music are also worth shouting out. The terminal sfx made for a tactile experience, and the voice acting (so ambitious for a jam game!) was clearly tricked out with skill and precision.

If you liked 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, you'll find much to love here.

This game is like looking in a mirror: it's just an image, it's inverted and false, but it is the real world; when you see something coming at you from behind, you'll flinch.

It's hard to make meaningful commentary on such an introspective story, but thank you for giving us readers a peek behind the curtain.

What a complicated set of feelings between the two characters and what masterful handling of the details, contradictions, and changes of those feelings over time. Stunning.

Sure, there's death and anguish, but the crux of the story being a communication issue between species (or beings of different levels of socialization) was captivating. Everything fit together succinctly; I felt that not a word nor image was wasted. Great atmosphere!

As a certified Shakespeare-head I am always psyched to read stuff like this. I loved the character/actor distinction and seeing that play out in Jinx's romantic style was uniquely fun. I also enjoyed her poses and the CG art.

Eleanor is a great character. The neurotic conjuring of every possible (well, possible is a stretch) scenario, but the total lack of initiative to act on a single one of them... unless? :9 It's great.

Writing was visceral, color palette was evocative, art and design were clean and prompted the imagination. Nice job taking on some of the music, too. I really liked this!

Waited patiently for this one to release and the payoff was worth it!

Other commenters have covered much of what I loved here, but one thing that really struck me was the realistic dynamics between characters, especially early in the story. The way Odette went along with Zoe's group just because they shared the most class time together... School forces people into close contact with people they might never otherwise brush shoulders with, and your depiction of that was spot on.

The general level of detail and polish is also commendable. Undertaking a large project like this (alone!) while still caring for the small things that contribute to general effect is a real achievement.
