Unfortunatly I couldn't play the game, the display size is too small for some reason to me, even on fullscreen the game only occupies the center of my screen, making any text too small to read properly!
Might be my laptop the issue, I've tried both Brave and Microsoft edge to run the game, neither seems to work.
Refrained to rating this time, so if anything, good luck!
Really fun experience!
Actually great use of sign language with the translation feature, letting the player choose what each gesture means. Took me a while to understand what was going on but got it in the end, if anything this project could be expanded into a full fledged release.
There were some glitches that I faced, like one of the character's hand was purple the whole time, I guess the texture was missing, or it wasn't facing the camera properly so... And sometimes my translation wouldn't show up for some reason. Also I couldn't tell I was talking to a dragon at first, I thought some of them were purple goats, but I guess that's on me rather than the artist themselves xd
But besides that, fun experience and unique mechanic, great job!
Great game!
The story is fun and engaging with a fairly simple gameplay loop. if anything, wished it had more sounds to accompany the narrative. Also is any of the history about the soviet union on this game real? or based on real facts, was surprised by how in-depth it seemed, wouldn't be surprised if some research was put into this, great job!
Really fun and sweet plot-twist at the end
Was pleasantly surprised by this entry actually!
What I thought would be a simple visual novel, turned out to be a sort of choose your own adventure game! I managed to get to the end in one play through, the dice seem to work fine and thank god for that duct tape giving me a +2 bonus xd. Also great sound design, really enjoyed the music!
Also, I did get the "Disturbance in the narrative" error after I fired my rifle the werewolf girl. And my game seems to be in a much smaller ratio compared to the whole game screen, only occupying 1/4 of the screen its supposed to I think.
Overall really fun story!
Absolutely stunning game!
A very beautiful short experience with a unique mechanic! Loved the sound design of hovering over the stars.
If I could add one thing, would be a "hint tracker" that tracks what you accomplished, like number of stars connected, or for of certain criteria are met for the constellation it highlights the texts or something. But idk if that would take away from the puzzle itself. Also reminded me of Spore for some reason...
Amazing game, congrats!
Thanks!
Sound design was a bit tougher to do since I have almost no experience with audio OwO''... But I was able to pull most of it off (like the fact there is no running sfx...)
And yea, those mechanics are definitely on the to-do list now.
Also daddy long beak is wild, that's his codename now instead of "bird" or just "monster" lmao
Ah thank you so much for the praise!
I was also really surprised with how well this game turned out, will definitely work on it a bit further this coming year. And yea, checkpoints are a must do for this game, being one the most requested feature to far. Also one thing that happened was the lack of QA testing for the game, I was able to beat the game easily at first, so I amped the difficulty before releasing the game and didn't bother to test much further. Which isn't reliable since I have my own bias, since I know where everything is and how to properly evade the bird xd.
But anyways, thanks for the feedback and more updates to come out soon!
Finished the game! Took me a couple of tries but I got it in the end!
Really fun project you guys got going here, took me a while to get the gist of what was happening but after some trial and error, I understood what was happening better. Overall a surprisingly polished entry for a jam game, great art direction, Sound design, narrative and ambience... really well made. Also enjoyed the fact that there is a whole story and world building made for this, real cool!
Also funny that both our games share similar aspects, both of our games having characters that use echo-location and that the roles are reversed, in mine the protagonist is a bat escaping from a monster bird, and yours being a monter following the player. Now you gotta make it so we play as a bird character xd (the protag's especie's is never specified is it?)
Overall great experience, congrats to the Team!
Amazing work! Probably my favourite out of the Jam entries so far, great gameplay, game mechanics are fun and fit the theme, the story being told through exposition without much or any dialogue, sound design fits greatly with the overall style of the game . I actually felt entranced by the story being revealed to me, played it twice just to make sure I got everything out of it.
Its all *chef's kiss*, fantastic work
Great game! fits well with the Jam's theme and plays just fine!
Only concern is the lack of challenge, since monsters go to the last place they heard the character, its only a matter of shifting a lil to the side to avoid them after making noise. But I understand this is just a prototype made in the spam of a week, but there is definitely potencial with just some simple fixes that this game really rounds up to be great! Also I guess having more rooms to explore, or deeper hallways would probably do wonders for gameplay.
Overall, great art, gameplay and sound design that all click together!
Hmm I'll have to look into that, I tested it in some other browsers and had my friends test the game also and the mic issue didnt show up for any of us, although I'm not certain if any of them used firefox so I'll have to look into that. The esc key was a blunder on my end, it just didnt register for me that that could happen lol, I should've gottem some playtesters for the game before the jam deadline. The situational awareness was a complain a received in general from many people, I'm already taking notes on how to fix that too, give the player more quality of life, but that for after the jam voting period ends. Thanks for the feedback!
A very pretty game! Both visually and sound-wise, you can tell a lot of love was poured into it. I'm just not that musically talented, so I personally couldn't really find the tempo necessary to make progress, only reaching around 9 steps before the creatures got me. All that this games needs a lil more user feedback, when to hit notes or when a note is missing. Besides that, great submission!
I'm personally a big fan of horror, so I genuinely enjoyed the whole atmosphere and the monster's design. The intro sequence was a delightful surprise, it even came with voice acting. The games atmosphere is great, and its impressive that so much could be done in such a small amount of time. The game currently needs a bit more polishing, some objects have no collision and I couldnt progress much. Either way, fun and would like to see more
Great game and great art, the characters are very cute and the text box rotating to match the character's rotation isa great touch.
I personally took way too long to finish the game, but thats because I'm not good with these types of puzzle. Sent it to a friend to play and they finished it in 5 min...
Overall great experience, jsut wish it was longer. (understandable tho, 10 days is great, but not enough for polishing)
The game is absolutely amazing. A short and cohesive little experience. Surprisingly well polished a such a short period of development. The main game mechanics are well put together, being fairly easy to comprehend. Abosutely cute character, and great sound design.
I really liked the camera work, my only complain is that sometimes my character would be hidden behind the scenery. Besides that, congrats on the work put here!
