Hi there! I'm Dax, and I'm looking to build a team for a retro-style on-rails FPS!
Overview:
Death Descent: Crystal Catacombs is a PS1-style, on-rails shooter in the vein of House of the Dead, with horror-sci-fi vibes, glitchy secrets, and a layered narrative told through action, lore, and “memories” from an alien artefact.
Gameplay Style:
- Fast-paced, on-rails FPS (think House of the Dead meets Time Crisis)
- PS1 aesthetic with low-poly, stylized horror/sci-fi visuals
- Co-op (local split-screen or networked, TBD)
- Secrets, glitch-based mini-games, and collectible lore
- 5 main levels + boss fights, leading to a climactic final boss with an optional “ultra-form” unlock
Roles I'm Looking For:
All roles are rev-share, and I’m open to people who want to grow with the project, not just fill a slot.
Top Priority:
Unity Developer – Build on-rails movement, shooter mechanics, co-op logic- 3D Artist – PS1-style low-poly models, enemy animations, environments
Level Designer – Scripting enemy waves, boss weak spots, pacingSound Designer / Composer – Sci-fi horror soundtrack, SFX, ambient layers
Bonus:
- UI/UX Artist
- Shader artist familiar with retro post-process effects
Timeline:
- Goal: 6-month development cycle (vertical slice in 2–3 months)
