Pretty polished fun game to play. The currency is almost another life force you have to manage or else you'll die which is a cool concept to go deeper into. The sounds were satisfying and shooting asteroids was fun. I would work on a better tutorial though its kind of unclear. Also I am still confused of what the random red, blue, and white squares were. If they were something important I didn't understand what they meant at all. It would consider turning this game into a rouge like /scaling progression to the game but that's up to you.
Playing this game also makes me wonder if I can make my sounds more satisfying and how I would do that. I'm curious about how you created the sounds for your game if you'd like to share!

Not gonna lie I was a little unsettled because this game feels like it was a horror game disguised as innocent but it wasn't. I guess I was immersed with the games atmosphere. I ended up doing everything but being happy. I was trying to find something scary lol. If you want you can try out my submission of you want to also.
Never played a game like this but it enjoyed the gameplay. Its not to complicated right now but could really be fun with maybe more enemy types. Setting traps and guessing where the monster is located is really cool. I think it would be nice to maybe have a compass, get a bit of ammo from chests and traps leading it to turn into a resource management game. The how to play though probably needs to be remade since its to much text at once. But gameplay wise this game is pretty good.
Since this was based of PVZ I thought it was going to be a exact clone to the original but its great that it has a different identity compared to PVZ. The enemy variety was good maybe the ice cube could be a bit stronger. The defenses aren't just exactly all copies from PVZ like peashooter, sunflower a few had their own gimmick. I would say that maybe the end of the level drags on to much and isn't threatening. Maybe the explosive (Buk) cost could be increased, have a cooldown, or have a nerf in overall power. He feels to spammable like a really cheap doom shroom. But these issues are easily fixable. And I will say I was obsessed with PVZ and PVZ like games as a kid so this was fun to play.
I have recently gotten into minesweeper for a year or two now. THIS GAME HAS SO MUCH POTENTIAL!!!. Genuinely telling you that this could be a successful game. Its really fun to try dodging and trying to play minesweeper. Huge potential of a game.
You can try out my submission if you want to. Its called Infectious Blocks.

I really liked this. Even though I never played dark souls the combat was still simple and fun. I do wish the controls were a bit more clean. Attacking with the delete key doesn't really make sense. Id be nicer if the controls were all close together instead of spread apart.
Also you cant walk certain stairs for some reason and you can get stuck falling when your touching the ground.
Please don't take my review as hateful. I just want to tell you about these things so they are fixed. I really like the simplistic combat and small RPG mechanics. I Hope your able to fix these issues!
Ill consider giving it another play if your able to update the game. You are able to do a late submission also btw for this game jam (Found out about that on their discord)
Feel free to try out my game if you want to. Its called Infectious Blocks!

I think it was either level 4 or 5.
Also some other things I forgot to mention is that cherry bomb, potato mine, and pineapple bomb could use a buff like a bigger explosion size. Everytime I try to use a insta plant it sometimes doesn't hit certain things even though it was in the explosion range. Ex potato mine detonates from a fast enemy after the bloons break through a wallnut but the other slower enemies dont die behind it.
It would be nice to have some more options in the pvp mode since 3 plants and bloons only feels restricting and hard to try out different strategy's. Level 2 is just way to hard with the first enemy being the newspaper zombie, the amount of gaves and rng for graves, and the first wave having a bunch of coneheads and lead bloons is to much to handle.
Also id be nice to see what enemies would spawn in a level to.
These are things I discovered after playing more
Although some other players might find this game to be difficult I do enjoy some parts of it. Its nice to have a pvz game that requires full attention to beat and having a strategy but Id like to suggest feedback so here it is:
Changes to consider:
-Making the seed packets at the start of the level fully refreshed would make the first few seconds less stale and give you more time to prepare.
-Since this game is difficult maybe adding key binds for selecting seed packets using 1-6 for quick select. This would be very helpful to players considering the difficulty of this game. You could also make space bar control the game speed if things get chaotic.
-It would be nice to know when bloons are spawning at the start where the level progress bar is so you can prepare properly.
-Shoveling plants is a bit awkward with the snapping of the shovel and would be easier to use if it just stayed where the mouse was at. Maybe you can add a key bind to it also.
Bugs:
-A weird bug happened where the walnut was still alive even though there were 5 bloons it was blocking and wasn't being damaged at all. Had to remove it with a shovel for the bloons to get unstuck. Idk how I would recreate it but its most likely a health bug.
Overall opinion:
I do like the difficulty of this game and how its played compared to other bloons games. I think either the games difficulty could be lowered a slight bit and maybe have some quality of life features like key binds would help with planting stuff faster.
A very simple game. Good job btw for only 2 months for this as your first project.
Some suggestions other than adding new stuff/content would be to add shop icons for different buffs, try adding more detail to the map than just colors, and add mute buttons to disable music or sounds.
Good luck with your project. Feel free to check out my games if you want.
