Great game, awesome design. Really enjoyed it!

Hey everyone,

I started a project about a month ago, and I have been flying through it. What started as a simple slot game where the goal was to catch 151 pokemon has evolved into quite a little game. http://mattyflexx.itch.io/pokeslots

Pokeslots now has all pokemon through the Sinnoh region, as well as their shiny variants. There is a color-coded pokedex that syncs up with the region in which they can be caught. That was essentially v1. v2 was me adding johto pokemon and pokemon cries.  Initially I made the odds very user friendly, and that remains today --- logic exists that will help you complete your pokedex and your shinydex by making pokemon you haven't caught a priority. I believe you could catch all 475+ pokemon in about 90 minutes if you were so inclined to do so.

Now there is a shop, a mechanic for catch mastery, a buddy system with rewards, a leaderboard, four different game cartridges,  a badge system with progressive rewards, rival challenges, boss fights, and I even added mega evolutions.

Interpersonally, v1 was basically like "hey cool, I made a slot reel".  v4 is like, something I am proud of and something I want people to experience.

To date, I have known exactly what my next steps will be, and I have had a list of the tings I want to integrate and accomplish once a version is published. v4 went live moments ago, and I am sitting here without any clue as to what to do between now and releasing the 5th gen pokemon.

I was hoping that this might provide some visibility for some folks to play my game, and hopefully round up some ideas for the next update. I have worked on this project daily for several weeks now, and I don't want to lose the ambition I have for making it better. I am worried that if I draw a blank, I will set the game aside and not revisit it.

If you have some time to click/tap through it for a bit, and could share some feedback, that would be awesome.

Or, if anyone out there has any experience that might be helpful in terms of staying engaged with a project like this, that would be immensely helpful.

hey dude, finally got a chance to play, it was great! I think something maybe others are overlooking is that the dexterity it takes to play the game and perform well mirrors the dexterity it takes to play the guitar. thoroughly enjoyed it, let me know if you end up doing more with it!!

Awesome game, very well done! Enjoyed a quick playthrough of it quite a lot.

Never really played a game like this before, but it was cute and seemed to be well-done. Truly it was great for someone like me who might be gatekept out of this genre if not for something to ease into it. Thanks for making and sharing!

Not sure if we are stuck or if the queue actually is 30 hours, but the graphics are really nice and everything has a nice, smooth feel to it. I will try to remember to check back to see if anyone gets past that area so I can play more!

Thanks so much for the feedback! It means a lot, and I am glad you enjoyed it. Johto region coming soon, I hope!

Your feedback really means a lot, dude! I genuinely appreciate it. I put a lot into the game, which is hilariously overshadowed by the soundtrack 🤣

Thank you!! Going to give sushi rush a try this weekend!

Thank you so much! Can't wait to give yours a shot.

Oh man, I am just now seeing these comments, just wanted to thank you so much for trying it out and for the feedback! Truly means a lot to me.
