
BEST WITH FRIENDS! Experiencing this game for the first time at a LAN with a few close friends was uniquely special. I knew Vofgofm was spending every spare minute in their busy life pouring their soul into this project, but I had no idea it was this polished and included all of our friends before I played it a few days ago. I was blown away with the soulfulness of this game, with its hand drawn animations and a million references to each friend. Passing the controller was a wholesome and connected experience. Happy LANd is what gaming is all about, at least in my book. I loved how each character has their own movement and unique obstacles in the game. I am definitely biased but my favorite part was the alien station with all the little guys from my tiny museum. The alien character's float mechanic was really fun too. I loved the endless references to all our favorite single player games we pass the controller on together.
The theme's image (symbolic of the creation of Adam) spoke to me, and although I did not submit a game, I loved playing each submission I could. So many takes of one image, one feeling. To me, the image is about human connection, reaching out, and how we can sometimes never touch or truly be close. When we all finished Happy LANd together I felt more connected to myself and my friends than ever before. The most beautiful and fitting part is when we all finished our characters part, the final boss came and it was VERY difficult (but there is a full playthrough if you get stuck!). Vofgofm helped us beat that final boss and we watched in awe as the boss just kept coming at us with new stuff! With each players powers combined in an intuitive and seamless way, we all watched the color come back to our life. The two hands reaching out for each other, now connected.

Thank you Matthew! It's really hard to make the first move and talk to new people, especially when there are fun solo games and distractions. I relate to only making friends through shared activities and really had to push myself as a kid to talk and get to know others.
But when I did talk, I discovered how truly connected we are as humans. Funny how my brain always tries to tell me I'm alone, even when everyone else is living a similar life along side me! I am glad you enjoyed our game, thank you for the thoughtful review 🤟✨

The Last Letter made me tear up. I thoroughly enjoyed this game, especially the letter writing and little quests along the way. I played it multiple times through! This far exceeded what I expected for the limited time we had. The completionism in me wanted to continue and restore all the grey buildings... I REALLY hope that means a full game eventually <3
Small bugs I noticed:
- Character gets stuck on right side of front door when exiting, had to enter and exit again without holding a direction.
- Initially stuck on the letter writing and didn't know to click the letter at first - pressed E then was unable to click anything or exit and had to refresh.
- Letter can be addressed to anyone - I found this funny with the "you are seen" letter when I addressed it with the wrong name xD I did notice on the second playthrough the voice lines explain you need the correct sender and story, I loved that.
- Super picky and not a bug but the borders of the map are jagged
This game is S tier, the depth of stories and satisfying quests created a great experience and the sound effects were well balanced, love the chime "memory rekindled" sound. Creative vision was cohesive and unique, I love the connection to generosity and belonging. This game makes you FEEL. Like all good art, the Last Letter made me think and truly connect to my interpretation of generosity. Incredible job to the whole team!
Loved: Loading animation, menu, character design, concept, details like the sound effects like on the bridge and wall carvings, how well the art was implemented into the game, and of course the CAMERA - so cool and smooth implementation. I love the "leave no trace" concept and how you incorporated the social aspect with photo sharing and trash.
Notes: I would increase the player speed and maybe add boost/flying to help movement feel more natural and fun. I felt a little lost and it felt tedious to walk large expanses of nothing only to get to a city I could not interact with.
I would also like some objective or something to unlock to bring satisfaction for playing, maybe the park was cleaned by other players so the large areas seemed baren, but I love working to the end of a game and seeing its story start to finish. An intro scene for the story would be fantastic. I loved the world you created, but I am lost as to what the ice / blue gems are and why they are here. I feel the sense of history and like the park ranger character, but there was no clear questline that could progress the game or hint to more places to explore. I thought if you picked up all the trash you could melt the ice haha but at least the park is clean for future players!
Bugs (pun indented): Only bug I found was when taking a rest on the bed it just went black and I had to restart the game, not sure if this is intended but text prompting to wake up or indication that taking a rest is saving and ending the game would help.
That being said, for the scope of this jam I think you all did a wonderful job polishing what is in the game, and props for creating an immersive world with a fitting soundtrack for this lil bug. I would play this again if there was more to do, I love a Bug's Hike! 
Wow you both created such a fun and cohesive game! The mechanics are balanced and I love the strategy. This is a really interesting play on the theme and fits it like a glove. The art sucked me in even though I don't typically play this genre, I love the attention to detail and style. Nothing to critique! Amazing job, one of my favorites that I keep coming back to!
I felt like such a good robot in Granny's Home, that robot can WALK! I like the idea of generosity in terms of decluttering for someone you love, and the double meaning of also donating the usable but unneeded items. I relate to the tough position of helping people I love through these moments of transitions and sometimes it takes a strong bond to help someone let things go. You achieved that deep emotional connection and sense of love through an actual robot! How did you all do it so well? I don't know, maybe it was the honest reflection and implementation of you own experience, or maybe it was the choices the player faced in such a simple but cohesive world, or maybe magic~
I can tell a lot of thought and effort went into this game, congrats on creating such a polished game within the timeframe!
This game captures that youthful sense of wonder for sure, I call that feeling kinderment. I loved the bright art style and of course the adorable Mochi! Unfortunately the park disappeared and because I had the known bug of the 180 in Fullscreen camera view, I was unable to reposition the perspective and had to refresh multiple times to progress. But as a result I got SUPER good at the cross the road game haha. I would love to play this game again after an update!
Wow, you captured such a rich story behind the scenes of a very fun to play cafe clerk job. I liked how characters could abuse your generosity. For the theme, I really enjoy how you showed multiple sides of what generosity can look like and how it can be used. You created a cohesive design with a light-hearted spooky touch. I loved the math and how many customers you could see in a day, great job to the whole team that brought this gem to life, one of my favorites!
I love the little jump sound! Such a cute cozy game with nice music and fantastic artistic design. I like that you cannot pick flowers if you have no one to give them to, and the bouquet arranging is a great touch but couldn't figure out how to tie the ribbon around it to finish it. I did get a little motion sick with the camera being so close up and not being able to see where I wanted, but it also is the perspective of a smol kid and we didn't have a ton of time. Overall a great game that brought me back to picking flowers for people, thank you!
Thank you so much! I became a crayon bender for this project haha, I'm happy to see someone appreciates all the work we put in! I made the outlines for all the items and characters in GIMP with the border select tool.
We definitely agree on the pacing of the game and are already planning updates for after! Andrew yaps a lot but he's a good kid 🩷
