Hello there I'll make a few post about the progress of my game here, if devlogs are allowed here. If not I can take it down.
Most of these screen shots of are day 1 and 2s work, I didn't get a chance on working day 3 due to other responsibilities.
My goal is to make a game and build up upon it every round, so I'm leaning more towards a "skill tree" but it feels more like a skill slot machine, I'll get to that later. Of course I'll have other ways the player can customize it's self or maybe even have it be able to edit the color of the UI.
Okay so in the screen shot below is well almost the gist of my game, survive you have a food and water bar that are depleting constantly, the "skill tree" allows you to get upgrades that can slow down these or even increase your max capacity for them, almost every asset in this game is made withing the time frame of the jam so far. The exception being that bottle which I made for a project a few months ago but fit the style I was going for and I thought it would be a shame to not use it. Every other asset at this point has been made during the Jam.

Next is the inventory it's pretty basic you can store the food items to eat later to you can min max that stuff. You use the arrow keys to navigate it and enter to consume it there. This system has had a "over haul" you can now hold the food and other items and eat them from your hand.
Okay, well thank you for reading this post, this is really only day 1 and 2's work and it's day 4 now, I did have the skill machine at this time but I think most of this is going to look a bit different pretty soon. My goal with the first week is to get most of the systems and assets that will be repeated in place, and than work on my world and story week 2.
Again thank you for ready this until next time.
Brother we are programmers we steal code. If I'm being honest coding is kinda done for, Prompt engineering is the new path for us programmers. And I think most of these rules mean no AI generated content as in art, music etc. I don't know if you asked people what is the content in a game if they would say Code.
