Very fun game! Enjoyable, loved the themed UI and art.
Try out my game :D
I was totally inspired by Midway 1942. You're right, I think for the initial part I could have fleshed out the gameplay for that a bit more, I dumped a lot of my time on the arcade flight shooter portion. This was my first gamejam and the speed to develop is frantic. I was impressed with how much you got done in that short amount of time with your own game!
Thank you for playing!
Was tough to play, if the controls were on screen while the game was playing, might be able to remember all the keys and which colors they match. The restart button wasn't working for me, so when I wanted to restart, I had to close the window and start a new one, going through the comic book flip pages to start again. I think if I could restart faster, I would want to practice with the controls more. I like the music and sounds, the whole thing looks really festive.
Try out my game :D
Love the trip when you sprint, that was funny. Would be better if it was tied to a resetting timer where the longer you sprint the more likely you will trip. Instead it seems that the trip is just random, which can suck when you're caught in line of sight of a guard. Could be a good incentive for the player to watch how long they sprint for at a time. Was a fun game!
Try my game out!
Needs a controls or tutorial page, but this is a good game! I think Santa should be just a smidge faster, or the straight lasers a little bit longer to turn back on. Great play loop, I love the concepts behind this. Timed stealth puzzle solving, themed as Santa delivering presents without getting caught. Brilliant!
Even though I work in Unreal, I would like to stay in contact! My discord is mndwander418
Try out my game if you get a chance!
Nice look to the game. I appreciate that you even came up with a dialogue interaction system. Unfortunately, the pacing is off. It took so long to get around the level, and when I fell I did not have it in me to want to make up all that lost time. I think giving the snail a speed boost or upgrade would have made it a little easier.
Overall, I think it has amazing potential!
I can see a vision here, but there were difficulties in playing the game. There were no displayed controls or tutorial, but I'm glad you included a pause menu with the ability to change my keybindings. After binding the fire button to my space bar, I learned that I can't actually kill the snowmen that I meet in the hallways, so there was no point in swinging the candy cane. The ammo count for the candy cane doesn't decrement in the HUD when I press fire.
I'm a student in college using Unreal Engine, reach out to me if you want on Discord, mndwander418
Try out my game too!
Overall a fun click economy game. Took me a couple tries to see how the exponential curves worked and the value of maxing out the value of your sleds per click and coins per click in the early game. I am hopeful that the win screen was just a misspelling of Santa and you meant nothing by saying "Thanks for helping Satan save Christmas".
Merry Christmas!
It's a fun concept, building up trees from nothing as the tower defense strategy. The collection of the candy canes is a little difficult due to the jump and movement controls. If the jump were set to a height where the apex is just at the range of overlap with the candy canes, the player could keep momentum and bounce from platform to platform with ease, keeping them in flow. I think that the candy cane spawn rate is fine, but the enemy spawn rate could be reduced a bit, or a break period given for the player to build up their trees. The pressure was constant, so a moment of refuge might be nice to have between waves.
Overall, good game!
