Hello everyone !

I am developing a Boss Rush game in Unity xd :))

I’m looking for a 2D artist!

The project is inspired by the game loop of the WarioWare MicroGames series.

Main idea:
Boss phases consist of various mini-games that test the player’s agility and quick thinking, combining conceptual complexity with mechanical complexity.

Current demo

The demo contains test mechanics for the first boss.

Phase 1

Goal: Reach the castle where the boss is located.

The road is full of obstacles, chasms, and traps.

  • The player learns to press any button to jump

  • Jump height depends on how long the button is held

  • Genre: Runner

  • Input: 1 Button

Phase 2

The player reaches the foot of the castle.
To enter, they must solve a puzzle.

  • Genre: Sokoban

  • Input: WASD / Arrow keys

Phase 3

The player enters the castle and must defeat the boss.

  • Deflect the boss’s attacks

  • Deliver a fatal blow

  • Genre: Old-school boxing simulator (???)

  • Input: A / D (Arrow keys), any other button to strike

The visuals are purely temporary and taken from free assets, so please don’t judge the final look yet.

If you’re interested, please reply in the thread or send me a private message.

I’ll be happy to hear from you !

Hi, couldn't find your contact elsewhere, wanted to say that I liked your visual style and wanted to ask if you would like to work on one project? (On the BOSS RUSH 2024 jam) ( my telegram:  @dead_insideq )

Thanks You for feedback!

You're right, maybe someday I'll finish the version for two people, and in general, there's a lot to add or redo)
In general, when I saw the stream from the jam, I realized that people don't fully use the paddle turn, which is the coolest way to score balls.

Thanks for the feedback!

At first, I thought about adding something like ribbons on the grid or on the paddles that would inform the player about the direction of the wind, as well as adding a sound effect when it blows, and I also planned to add some manipulations with gravity and something like super kicks, but unfortunately I didn't manage to implement it :(

In general, the idea was to somehow improve and change the retro game called PONG.

I'm glad You liked the feeling of the game! Good luck!
