Did some pixel art but spent most of yesterday implementing a nice EGA fade out effect. Basically, I ordered the EGA colors by perceived lightness which involved lots of squinting in front of Photoshop. When a fade starts, every color gets replaced with its next-darker sibling until all colors are black which works surprisingly well. Also, I somehow love the trippy rainbow you get during fades 😅

EDIT: Oh no, GIFs aren't working here? Here’s the animation in a post I made on Mastodon: https://mastodon.gamedev.place/@PixelProphecy/115302192372531727
Hi DOS Devs! I'm Phil and three weeks back I started my "game" with Free PASCAL and thr Go32 DOS Extender. Coming from Game Maker and JavaScript mostly, it's been quite a palate cleanse to learn how to put pixels in memory one by one but it's also very rewarding to see it working 😊
Here's my current state of affairs, all very basic as I still need to lay the foundation of a poor-person's Game Maker equivalent for myself to make an actual game with 😅

For now the mechanics are "click the ball" but that's working sufficienty at least. And I love making EGA pixelart and dabbling with OPL music
