Welcome 2 The Machine is an adventure platformer developed for The Spectrum, but can be played on other platforms in an emulator, as well. It is the sequel of Magenta Sky, and covers Nova Clark's adventures, who, in his desperate situation, joined the rebels.  

In this episode, Clark tries to escape from captivity while uncovering various secrets that point to a secret project. You must complete 6 levels to finish the game.

The second episode of u_nvrz series, Welcome 2 The Machine is out.

It is free, though a little donation is welcome! If you enjoyed it, don't forget to give 5 stars  ;)

I'm almost at the goal line ;) Intense testing, bug fixing, and the game will be finished. I'm still working on getting music in the game - although due to my limited memory, that's a big question mark for now.

Hope it runs on the real hardware too.

I've just uploaded a new version: you can toggle the border effects on/off from the main menu. I'm curious how it works on Enterprise.

I'm working on it, but honestly, I'm struggling to port the game to Enterprise. I couldn't even get the emulator (ep128emu for Windows) to work properly. For a workaround, I'll make a version where you can turn the border effects on and off.

Yes, it was my deliberate intention that while the game might seem easy at first, it should actually be difficult to complete. You have to figure out how to complete the levels — I know it's frustrating, but if I remember correctly, classic Speccy games were extremely difficult too (Manic Miner, Jumping Jack, to name just two).

Digging while falling, if not a bug, is indeed a superfluous thing. I might disable it as you suggested. Bees and bats don't hear the bark, so they don't get scared of Frankee — I know this doesn't make the player's job easier.

The game can be completed, and exciting levels await you. However, prepare for some more difficult moments: I suggest you count to ten before you damage your machine, joystick, or anything around you ;)

Wow, one of my friends had an Enterprise back in those days! I was envious of him for having 128 kb :)
Give me one or two days, and I'll try to make an Enterprise version of it.

Thank you for your feedback. Yes, music adds a lot to the experience, although I wanted to stay within the original ZX Spectrum's 48-kilobyte limit. But I definitely consider music for my next project :)

Frankie Goes Home is about a little dachshund lost in the woods and trying to find the way home. During the adventurous journey, several dangers lurk around: animals, kids, and cars hinder its progress. Although Frankee has a weapon, barking, that only slows down the enemies and doesn't eliminate them.
