The Yellow like a sand is not eppear in the event tab ( it just name that Hyao gave it ), the moment in the desert happens only one time, and after that when you go to Tremor you would see a scene and new CG, did you saw it? But it doesnt appear in the event tab

The burning dessert that you unlock, while exploring you happend to get on a scene of meeting a croc who attacks you and misterious yellow croc saves you

You dont need to defeat any, you just need to see a random scene happened when you exprole the desert

In order for all of event with Barrel to trigger you need to have Bandit camp morale over 20 for him to start showing off at bareshade which include wrestling and all other events, to get bandit morale up go to Bandit camp and give money to Jester to increase it 3 times a day, and be warned that bandit morale decreases daily, so you need to keep it up if you want them to show up

I see alot of people having issue with triggering Barrel stuff, so to get scene with him breaking into your house you need to do those things:
1. Go to fair and participate at Wresling ( there is a chance you can put agains Barrel )
2. Win or lose agains him ( not sure if it changes outcome ) and you can invite him to your house for rematch
3. After its done there is a chance that he will break in at night while you asleep after which you can have discussion with him about him breaking in
Alot of people asume that his drunk visit at night is breaking in but its not, it comes after all the wresling stuff is done
