I remember that I was in the overworld in the "believer" store in the mall and I wanted to equip a golden ring (but no the steel ring that I bought), when I finished equipping it and and pressing the escape key to go back; that's when it crashed. I hope this helps!

This game's so cool! One of the longest demos I've played! That's why it took me some time to finish playing and writing this.

Gameplay

The combat feels quite good to play. It makes you feel like that you actually can change the fate of every battle.

Also the white flash that makes the enemies before attacking seem to blend a little bit with the white flashes that the enemies make when struck.

I also liked the training and the challenges you can play at the gym.

The assist are also kinda cool. I hope Yuri can also assist us in battle in some way or another in the future.

Minigames

Quite varied. I liked more the fishing minigame, but you could add a bit more of invincibility frames; you can die like in less than a second, and that's sounds funny. Imagine fishies starting to beat you up with the most complicated bullet hell patterns ever made. I wonder if science could really make this reality, that would be the funniest thing ever.

Story

For now the mystery, the scars (cool for character design), the powers are quite varied. I do hope that there will be more strangeness and mystery with the other world.

I did chuckle a bit with the "fake bossfight".

Art

All the over world sprites of buildings and stuff look nice, well except the trees.

The over world sprites of characters are a bit below than the average building and other stuff

But the dialog portraits? Beatiful. I like the designs of Sakiko, Livio (because he wears a chain) and Leon the most, and maybe Yuri but just a bit.

Characters

Lana and Sakiko are like the most interesting characters in the story so far. It really makes me ask myself like "Why Lana's doing all this stuff to help Sakiko?", "What's Lana's motivation to do that.", "What things is she actually thinking beyond that stoic face."

Friday's really cool also I hope that she will be more involved in the story.

I also hope that soon it will be revealed the other characters's backstories

Bugs and crashes

Apparently there's some tiles without collision in the BestWay store. And it also occurs in the "other world".

So in the fight just after finding the big splash of Leon's blood. I hit an enemy to the left side of the screen, making it launch upwards with incredible speed and falling outside the fight zone. It was really lucky that the assist moves worked here, if it didn't I could have gotten softlocked and forced to go back at my last save.

Oh yeah after a cutscene the camera just stopped moving, at least it reset back when I travelled to another place.

When I tried to exit the equipment menu with the escape key it just crashed no idea why.

It also crashed when I tried exiting the claw machine minigame, it appeared a totally different menu, it said: retry, change equipment and exit to title (I think). I clicked exit and well it crashed.

Nitpicks

It takes a while for the game to finally let you explore freely, playing minigames, doing side quests or training. Like it takes 1.5 to 2 hours only to do that.

Characters like Yuri feel a bit predictable and I don't feel that attached to him, well not so much in last part of chapter 3.

Conclusion

I still think this game's quite promising and I really hope you don't feel discouraged to keep working on your game, it was quite the surprise finding your game via your website when you started following me on Neocities. And you been working on this game for... 6 years? That's quite the challenge and really impressive! I really hope the best for you and your project. Now with the knowledge that I said what I had to say, I tell you "Goodbye! And safe travels!"

Almost everything is quite good for a demo, like the visuals and the merging item mechanic.
The jumping feels kind of weird; it feels more like you are accelerating vertically in the air.
I'm also not really sure if this is a bug, but i think this guy is trying to do something else than just grab me.

What i´m sure is a bug is that there's no music playing, based on what Vandal said.

Well, the physics are really slippery and hard to control, and the background cats are nice, but sometimes it is hard to see the difference between the background and the platforms (like this part).

Also, it will be pretty nice if there is any indication that you can jump in the air if you haven't jumped on a platform before (I'm pretty sure that other players couldn't have figured that out by themselves).

And i think that there is a better way to make a lighting effect without making the entire screen bright and dark every time I'm close to a torch. Like using a canvas modulate and assigning a point light 2D to every torch or something since you are using Godot.

I really don't have a lot to say about this game (because, well, this is a demo), but i can say that it is decent visually (maybe you could try making the background images even more shape like, like this or something).

And it has nice music.

Also i got a bit confused when i tried to advance in the dialog because i instantly forgot that it was the enter key (why not make the shift key also the key to advance in the dialog?).

I totally agree with you that it is kind of rough what it was supposed to be the puzzle where you needed to throw those suns to advance in the next room. And the lack of polish when you gain a new ability.

About what you said about the main menu being the only place where it plays music, I'm pretty sure that is a bug.

Ok now i updated the game so it will be hopefully more easier for everyone.

XD I literally burst out of laughing, i'll do a balance update when i have it done, idk but that frog really says everything:

Well looks like i'm still terrible at balancing games /: you were literally just one level to complete it.

For me (i think) it took me a while to use the controls, but i knew from the start that the meter looked kinda suspicious

I actually kinda liked this game even with the difficulty, and i'm probably gonna still playing until i finish it!

It's incredible that you nailed the megaman style, and i love it!

I really like the simplicity of this game, the sounds and the music and the emotionless face of BUILDMAN.

Oh and could you rate my house:

I actually liked a lot of this game, this really feels like the first zelda (even if i never played) but even with the kinda complicated controls and mixing menu, it stills feels like you are going in a adventure, so congrats (:

Yes, literally to the other person who join the jam, please i'm begging you.

Or just go to the game page to see the web browser version.

Best game in the jam, bet if you can beat the first level (:

Thanks! and its kinda of procedurally generated, i just used this tutorial and put it in 2x more faster to do it. And begging that everything just works (almost) perfectly

Yeah, you are right about the jumping and the generation, i will probably update the game after the voting is over.

Thanks! (:

Thanks for the feedback! now that i notice, i could never realize that the li'l character and his surroundings could never match the look I wanted and a consistent perspective, so. Thanks for your sincerity!

Yep, I did the music, sprites and code, thanks!

I really liked this game! I kinda wished that there was a small warning when the "chompers" enemy is about to bite, but overall. Really good game!

Yeah you're right, now that you say it. The "enemy" was not as intuitive as i wanted /:

Amazing game Kreyk! everything feels very polished.

It was quite fun to play! and i wish the skeleton sounds sounded a little better

It's really amazing that this game was made by a tiny elf!
