Well executed idea, I like how the challenge gradually builds up as more cars come in.

Thanks also for your timelapse video - I've messed with the PICO-8 for a while and Picotron looks very interesting!

Nice! Having a full story and branching paths to go with the game is impressive, had fun with this one

It's awesome to see another PICO-8 submission!

For the cover image, I just laid it out manually in GIMP, using the basic title and one of the sprites from the game and putting them on a background matching the PICO-8's color palette. I felt it didn't count as part of the 3 hour limit since it's part of setting up the game page.

Thanks very much! Fair point about using a grid, the player is a bit too fast for small precise movements.

Very nice take on the Suika game

Loving the concept of this one and how it interprets the theme. I feel like it could be nice to be able to select a piece pressing 1, 2 and 3 or something and showing a little preview of where the blocks will appear before you click. Good work!

There's a lot to see here considering how short the dev time was! I like how some of the rooms relate to each other, and the characters and overall mood are pretty interesting too - feels like a dream sequence.

Solid game, well done!

Neat idea! Really like the visuals, reminds me a bit of city builder games.

Nice work! Procedural generation in games is definitely time consuming to get right so I get why that would be challenging in such a short jam. Could be a neat game after some visual polish and tuning for the level generator!

Thanks! Yeah, I only realised towards the end of the 3 hours that you can just swap constantly between two lanes and be fine, bit of an oversight - I was planning to introduce pickups or something that appear on the lanes that you need to grab, but there wasn't enough time

Nice game! My best time after a few tries was 48.38

Cool, I really like the music and how the game feels. Wish I could see more of what's coming sooner - the car goes really fast!

Big thanks to the organizers and everyone taking part! It's been a lot of fun!

Feels fun running around as Grey Leno, pretty impressed by the character controller honestly. You can wall kick and grab ledges!

Thanks for trying it out, I'm glad you had some fun!

Glad I saw this before the end of voting! Lots of cool ideas in this one, needing to match games to what people want is nice. Really like the dynamic music as you go in and out of minigames

Thanks, that's great to hear!

Thanks, appreciate it!

Catchy! Always nice to see the PICO-8 show up. Feels like it could be slightly improved with a tooltip somewhere that gives the full name of the ability you've got selected. Nice work!

I like the concept and visuals! Terminal games are a bit of niche, I do wish there were more of them around. Exploring to find undocumented commands that do weird things is a nice take on it

Theming is fantastic, the slow zoom out from the CRT right at the start is really cool

Hi, thanks very much for taking the time to give feedback!

Out of interest, were you playing the Windows build or the web version, and if it was web, which browser were you using? A grid across the screen definitely isn't intended. Sorry about the issues!

This is a fun gallery shooter! I appreciate the targets being actual physics bodies instead of just objects with health so you need to keep up your fire and aim carefully. I appreciate the effort you put into the cover image too!

I couldn't defeat Cathy Mitchell :( An audio cue for when she's attacking might help since it can be hard to notice before it's too late otherwise

That's fair, thanks for giving it a try though!

Great art and the game is easy to understand!

Seems like the son's baseballs can appear off screen sometimes

(1 edit)

Very slick art style and UI given the time constraints! Couldn't quite work out how to win the spin minigame, maybe I'm just not fast enough. Still got the win overall!

Neat little story, really like the Superhot theme it has towards the end

Thanks! I'm glad you pointed out Smash TV, that's one of the things we based this on

Yeah I know how it goes sometimes with game jams. Good luck to you!

Thank you, please you liked it!

Solid idea! Good job on the duck and TV!

Nice game! The general mood reminds me a lot of A Hat in Time

Really good idea using the TV as a portal between levels

Neat little story with a good feel to it! I appreciate how the game places you back just before the ending after you pick one so you can see them all easily

That means a lot, thanks very much for trying our game!

Nice, inverse Duck Hunt! I enjoyed the music a lot

Good work! Bit hard to read what the host is saying sometimes, but the design is very slick

Cool concept and art, I can see some pretty interesting mechanics coming from the idea of how the characters could interact with each other in a full game

Loved it, really nice idea that fits the theme perfectly! Small thing, but credit for having the time to add an actual menu at the start too

Nice! I love how you can watch back parts of your gameplay afterwards and how it introduces new mechanics over time. The game even saves your progress!

The beat up Godot logo when loading is a nice touch by the way :P
