How does your game fit the theme?
Each level gives the player a random assortment of tools to finish it. The catch is that each failure resets you to the start of the level but with new tools. Thus to move to the next level, you have to "break the loop"...

** This is the same feedback as I posted in the other jam with you **
When I read that first sentence, I know this is gonna be fun. And it is!
Exellent job on graphics and VFX, pleasant to look at. The music however, does not match the humorous gameplay. It sounds serious and mysterious. Maybe it is fine in preparation phase, and then on releasing the gooners the music is replaced with a cartoonish, funny, or funky vibe music.
The game is polished nicely and has potential. Well done!
This is a really cool concept. Have not been able to get far yet, but am enjoying fiddling with the tools to find how it works.
This was a fun game that combined puzzles with a bit of old-school Lemmings vibes!
A very creative concept with a colorful and cheerful art style. The calm background music also fit nicely with the puzzle atmosphere (SFX was also OK), and I enjoyed the variety of colors across the levels. I often had to stop and think carefully about my next move, which was a nice challenge. A bit more guidance might help new players get into the flow more easily.
The controls worked well, although like someone else mentioned, I also felt like I should be clicking on the items in the top left corner! 😄 Impressive that you managed to create a solid number of levels within the short jam period.
I also appreciated that you could still move on to the next level using the "N" key, even if you couldn’t complete one—so you never felt stuck. And that little extra text for returning players when pressing it quickly was a fun touch!
The theme was present, but could perhaps have been pushed a bit further.
Overall, a solid jam entry, and all of this within just 10 days—nicely done! 🧩👏
Valid points, and making the item icons into buttons is a simple fix I defs should've done (joys of rushed playtesting xD). I appreciate the time taken to fully play the game and leave this feedback :))
Many cool mechanics while there is some weirdness here and there i think is cool you made this in 10 days. I do mis the connection with the theme a bit. I also like the artstyle for this game
One things that really bugged me by the way is the fact i could not click the tools but had to use the scroll button i kept resetting the tool i had because my first instinct is to click items.
Very cool art style and sound design. This game has a lot of creativity. Maybe it is a bit too much to take in at once if you don't have experience with similar games, and it may benefit from having one or two very linear introductory levels to play around with the random tools you get. Still, very nice submission, I had fun!
More starter levels is not a bad idea. Thanks for the feedback and for playing!
Oh boy, I have a lot to say here. When you make a system this complex, expect many things to need fine-tuning!
All that being said, the core design is great and with a couple more puzzle elements (and maybe more balancing of difficulty/usefulness of items) this could be a great Mosa Lina-like. I'm just going for the feedback award. (:
Thanks for the ton of feedback! I was aware of a bunch of those janky issues (some where even intentional) but I appreciate your keen eye. You've definitely brought up a very good point about teaching real-time changing of solutions. If you give this much feedback to other games surely you'll get that award, regardless thanks and best of luck :))
The game design is pretty innovative; even when replaying at the same level, the game forces the player to creatively devise a new solution using randomized gadgets. I also like the initial interaction with the tutorial dialogue where, if you skip too fast, it shows something new haha. Probably the main factor that raises the difficulty for me is the fact that there are a lot of gadgets but there are no descriptions provided for them. Players can only understand what each gadget does exactly until after they press Space; if they fail, the gadgets reset, and they have to experiment with new gadgets with unknown properties. Of course, this only applies to the beginning stage of the game. But still, I think it would be appreciated if say adding a small text description when the mouse hovers over each gadget to better help explain what each gadget does.
The lack of descriptions on the items is more a feature (forces the player to experiment) even if it raises the initial learning curve. I do appreciate your feedback though as they are valid points! And I think you might be the first person to spot the alternative dialogue when you skip the tutorial, thanks for playing xD
Really love the art style - pixel art always has a special charm! The mechanics could use a bit of refinement, as I noticed the little ones sometimes get stuck, but overall, it’s an enjoyable experience.
That said, I’m not sure if the game fully fits the theme 100%. Since it’s level-based, I wondered: Does that mean every level-based game fits the theme 'breaking the loop'? It feels like something is missing to really tie it into the theme.
Still, the concept is really nice, and I hope you continue working on it! Looking forward to seeing where you take it next!
Valid points, thanks for playing and for the feedback!
Graphics is very good. in game are lot of nice mechanics. Good work.
It was inspired by lemmings, good spotting! The random items force a different playstyle to lemmings in that there isn't a fixed solution but rather you have to use what hand you've been dealt to try to beat the level. Takes some getting used to. Thanks for playing!
It's a pretty cool game! The movement is goofy, and I can definitely see he concept. I really enjoyed the art but felt the gameplay isn't quite as satisfying as it could be, and maybe that was just because I didn't understand the controls too well. Also, I'm not quite sure it fits the theme too well... but nonetheless a really polished and fun little concept!
Its a cool game!
I had a bit of trouble changin tools as my hand went directly to the toolbar to click them, and I did not get that "breaking the loop" feeling. Maybe If the tools were given in a slot machine or you could see them in a roulette it would just suffice.
On the other hand, I like the puzzle style and the huge quantity of tiny cone people that appear on screen.
Very nice work!
I did notice that some people tend to instinctively go to click the items in the top so I should've turned them into buttons. I appreciate the feedback, thanks for playing!
there is something so funny about seeing the little guys walk to their doom right after I spend 5 minutes setting up the "perfect" system to save them all. This game needs a full release, great job!
Haha yea its funny to watch the careful plans fail, thanks for playing!
