For a first solo game jam game, it's really impressive. You avoid a lot of classic mistakes, such as having 3Cs or unpleasant metrics. The game plays well, and the slide is a welcome addition.

I think the thing the game is missing most right now is an input buffer, which would make certain sequences much more enjoyable (I died way too many times on the rock sequence for exemple x)

But it was worth the effort, the boss is very cool and really well animated.

The enemies quickly become obstacles that you try to avoid rather than confront, but if they could give you something, like life for example, it would make them more interesting.

Honestly, it was great fun, although a little too hard. Nice work!

This is really good and well-thought-out feedback! I’ll look into improving these areas. Thanks for playing all the way to the end despite the difficulty!

Really cool game with a distinct style. I like the beholder monster in level 2!

Developer

Thanks for trying it out!

Cool game! Too hard for me, though, I barely made it to the middle of the second level. But after dying again, I just felt too frustrated to go on. Which is a shame, because I really liked the level design variety and platformer controls. Maybe consider creating some sort of checkpoint system in the future, to make the game more accesable.

Overall, very impressive entry!

Thanks for playing desite the difficulty!

I liked the 2D design of your game, it seems somewhat creative, the virus when it covered you gave me a lot of suspense for wanting to reach the safe zone, maybe it would be good to implement some new mechanics and 8-bit music that would lock you more in that scenario.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! I will try to improve on what's lacking in the game!

Nice idea!

Thank you!

Is there a way to regain health? Maybe I'm just bad at video games but between unintuitive controls & short attack range w/ mobile enemies, I'm not getting past the first area (also I don't want to hurt the pink blobs!)

Developer(+1)

Thanks for trying! I will try to improve the game afterward.

Pretty solid platformer, the controls were a bit hard to get used to for me personally, but I liked the hiding mechanic in the second level, but I think it could have been a bit more forgiving.

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for playing! Based on other feedbacks, I will try to add some check points and reduce the overall difficulty afterward.

I like style of game good job man

Very nice game. Loved the style, and sound effects fit everything perfectly. However I was very frustrated with the controls. Having to jump on X instead of Space was very annoying and confusing. I'd love to have control bindings settings, or a more universally familiar controls.

Rate In the Lair of Corridors by M.M.Miller Prod. for SCREAM JAM 2025 - itch.io check it out!

I must admit it was bit difficult for me, but overall horror style and platforming was satisfying af. Kudos!

Thanks for playing despite the difficulty!

Platforming and movement is done neatly (controls remind me of some genre classics like Shovel Knight). The difficulty level is somewhat challenging but totally doable since levels are rather short. It would be great to give enemies (like hogs) more complex AI, so it would be more challenging to fight them
Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing!

Unfortunately, implementing more complex AI takes time, especially within the scope of a short game jam. That said, if you manage to reach the boss, you'll notice it features a lot more behavior and complexity compared to the regular enemies! Feel free to check out the gameplay video if you're curious, the boss fight happens near the end.

Thank you, I'll check this video and then try to finish the game myself!

I liked that each level offers a unique situation. The difficulty increases gradually, but the last platformer section was challenging for me. The game has excellent controls, which I think are crucial for a platformer. Additionally, the game's sound effects and sound design perfectly complement its atmosphere. Great job!

Developer

Thanks for playing the game and going through the levels despite the difficulty! The controls were designed specifically to support that kind of challenge.

Great platform mechanics here! I found the timed events to be frustrating. Anything less than perfection and your were basically toast. Couldn't get past the third level. Checkpoints would have helped. Serviceable SFX, but this REALLY needs a soundtrack. Also, I don't know that I would describe a world where you are attacked by boars and sentient blobs as a dream world lol.

Developer (2 edits) (+1)

Thanks for playing, I totally understand the timed sections can feel punishing they were designed to challenge players under pressure, but the game is definitely beatable with a bit of persistence. That said, I’ll be adding checkpoints after the jam to help ease the difficulty curve a bit.

As for the music, it ended up being my lowest priority before the deadline. Given the limited timeframe, I focused on making sure the gameplay worked from start to finish and that there were no game-breaking bugs. While I don’t believe a soundtrack is absolutely necessary for a game to be complete, it does greatly enhance the experience, and it’s something I plan to explore more in future updates or projects.

Regarding the setting, yeah, it’s not meant to be a typical dream world. It’s more like a DnD-style virtual world that people want to explore into, perhaps it’s already corrupted beneath the surface. That’s why things become more surreal and chaotic as the game goes on. Unfortunately, you’d have to beat the full game to fully understand the context behind it all.

I definitely didn't expect to see a platformer in this jam but I am pleasantly surprised! The controls feel surprisingly smooth and the actions are balanced well with your speed, it's a little unforgiving but I can always appreciate a challenge. All in all, great work!

Developer

Thanks for playing and taking on the challenge!

Great little game, you are a cruel cruel person and I love it.  Definitely gets a little tedious when the timed sections are preceded by hack'n'slash bits with little challenge but I see you've already addressed that.  I loved the way the gfx progressively get glitchier and the virus chase was really well done.

Developer

Thanks for playing! I’m glad you noticed how the environment gets more glitchy as the levels progress.

Wow! Really enjoy this one! It reminds me of Hollow Knight in terms of difficulty, and the enemies reminds me of Maplestory. Really great submission! It takes me multiple tries per level to pass, but I really enjoy it. Add some music into the game and it would be golden!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing and taking on the challenge! And yes, I agree about adding music, that’s definitely something I’d like to learn more about and explore in future projects. If you managed to reach the boss, you might notice it has some resemblance to the Fourth Chorus from Silksong.
