T'is a pity you weren't able to finish, but I did like it as an intro. And I could see the potential, with the careful choice of "what potions to bring with me" and the care with money. I like that the choices led to consequences. 

This may be an obscure reference, but it reminds me of "Mazirian the Magician," a story in Jack Vance's Dying Earth series, which inspired the magic system, spells, and artifacts in Dungeons & Dragons. The wizard Mazirian had to carefully choose which potion he would bring on his quest, and what equipment he would bring (the Living Boots, aka the Boots of Speed). In this game I anticipated interesting outcomes based on my choices, and it would have been cool to experience them. But what you did show is promising!
