This was an interesting take on the theme! Admittedly, when I saw this game was about shepherding and strengthening a forest, I though of the guardian fox spirit in Jade Empire, who carefully gathers strength in anticipation of a showdown when an evil antagonist begins corrupting her forest.

While the game didn't have a twist in that vein (in my play-throughs thus far), I did see how the game could lend itself to teaching kids about  trees, forests, and how they grow & regrow. Nice start!

Thanks for the comment! For me this was a learning experience, and I already have ideas for how I would have approached this differently. I appreciate the actionable advice. This experience has been so educational and fun. Every submission I've played has taught me something, too. Best of luck!

T'is a pity you weren't able to finish, but I did like it as an intro. And I could see the potential, with the careful choice of "what potions to bring with me" and the care with money. I like that the choices led to consequences.

This may be an obscure reference, but it reminds me of "Mazirian the Magician," a story in Jack Vance's Dying Earth series, which inspired the magic system, spells, and artifacts in Dungeons & Dragons. The wizard Mazirian had to carefully choose which potion he would bring on his quest, and what equipment he would bring (the Living Boots, aka the Boots of Speed). In this game I anticipated interesting outcomes based on my choices, and it would have been cool to experience them. But what you did show is promising!

I said in the comments on the other page, but I did laugh out loud about the Michigan bit. You did a great job on the atmosphere, and I would love to play a game about detectives deploying dream magic.

I liked the visuals and sound, great job. Story wise, I had hoped to get a better sense of the characters and their situation. While we are told a lot, I have to take it on faith that the info Kerrigan gets is impactful. That said, you did manage to pack a lot in for the time we had to do this!

Whereas, I would really like to have the satisfaction of *realizing* for myself that something is a huge deal (e.g., the last name Kerrigan discovered).

But I realize the world is just being set up, and you've started a lot of threads that are likely to weave a great tapestry. The oneiromancy factor would be a big draw for me, so I was a little disappointed not to see that aspect of the case.  But again, you packed in a lot for the time we have!

P.S. I beg your finest pardon for that "when Michigan still existed" bit. As a lifelong resident, I both laughed and wanted to find out what happened to good old Michigan. A nice touch!
