This can happen if the game is left open for many hours. Browsers sometimes lose graphics memory after running for a long time, which can cause sprites to disappear. Reloading the page should fix it.
If you want to avoid graphical issues like this, I recommend downloading the game. The downloadable version is more stable and doesn’t rely on browser graphics memory.
Sorry, my bad. I’m aware that some visual bugs can happen in the browser version.
The tricky part is that they don’t happen when I run the game locally or in the downloadable build, so I can’t reproduce them easily. They only seem to occur once the game is uploaded and running on itch.io’s servers.
Because of that, every fix requires building the game, uploading it to itch.io, and testing it there, which makes debugging slower.
