yes!!!!! this might be my favourite submission so far. so well-written, well-produced, and so evocative. this is the type of music that would make me fall in love with a game - speaking of, i so badly want to play this game you've envisioned. absolutely stunning work, and to me, flawless!

the first track has captivated me immediately, so this will be getting my stream of consciousness treatment...

what a gorgeous first track and introduction! such a strong start, and beautiful progression throughout. really lovely!

second track: CONGRATULATIONS, this is the first track of the entire jam to give me goosebumps, such inspiring writing, with lovely interplay between your melody and countermelody, and the textural shift into the sweeping strings and driving arpeggios is absolutely unbelievable. the rubato effect is also so well done - it really contributes to the human feeling of this track and project so far. absolutely stunning.

lumina! gorgeous brass writing. i am a fiend for soft brass chords, and the opening of this track is no exception! a lovely emotional tone shift that contrasts really well with the previous track. very nice!!

speaking of tone shifts... what an intro to atlantis! the powerful low brass is such a bold choice, that i think works really well in effectively setting the emotional tone quickly. the progression in this track is so dramatic - this track works really well as a midpoint for the project.

empress of the sea is a fantastic companion piece to atlantis. while maintaining that dark feeling, it has the feeling i imagine one must feel staring at the peak of a mountain from its base... filled with anxiety, but with a drive to complete the climb.

the metaphorical mountain climb comes to fruition in onward! what an uplifting, inspirational track. absolutely stunning writing - plus, i love the gentle piano at the end of this track. it contrasts so beatifully with the earlier potion of the song, and the ambience at the end is also beautifully done.

you've really perfected that sort of boss-fight, final challenge, last battle feeling in lunar eclipse! another piece of stellar writing, with yet another beautiful conclusion

love you, farewell... what a conclusion to this project. so delicately done, beautifully emotional and gentle. absolutely stunning, and again, just the perfect conclusion to your submission.

such an impressive combination of quality and quantity for such a short amount of time to write - its such a challenge to compose a full orchestral work, let alone within a span of a week. however, you've done incredibly well. not only does it fit your theme and story perfectly, but it also stands on its own as a composition brilliantly. absolutely perfect, congratulations on your submission!

lol, i loved your short, but vivid descriptions of the songs... a wonderful change of tone from a lot of other entries! the progressions in the first track are spot on and really well-chosen. the restating of your central motif does a great job keeping the songs connected through their relatively disparate styles! the highlight for me is the last track - the piano writing gives an air of confidence, but the melodic and harmonic choices at the beginning of the track destabilize it, contributing to that feeling of uncertainty that you mention in the youtube description. however, towards the end, it seems to resolve, with the dissonance becoming scarce, and it really does finish with that sort of longing feeling. i think you've done a great job conveying emotions throughout your writing in the entirety of this project - really nicely done!

really nice writing! i'm impressed with the ambition to write fully orchestral music within the short span of time we had for this jam - but i think you really did a great job! considering these are your first two complete songs (wild!!), you have great compositional instincts! please keep writing, i'm keen to see what else you come up with in the future! the highlight for me was the solo piano at the end of the second track, and i loved how it faded in the gentle sound of the waves... really nicely done!

what a great vibe! the first two tracks are some of my favourites - i was definitely jamming to track two! last summer night is a great conclusion and fitting companion to the peak of your narrative - i love how this track builds and builds before cutting to the solo piano, taking us back home... really lovely work!

really lovely compositions! i love the ambience of the second and third tracks in particular - i really felt a connection to the world that you created. really sweet melodies throughout :)

brilliant orchestration and composition. really, really lovely! also, the last track is reminiscent of adagio for strings by barber, and i love that, too!  nicely done :)

it was really my pleasure! i'm not sure where you're writing your music, but something i've found helpful in terms of keeping good clarity in your mix:

1. you can try to use an eq to lower the volume of lower frequencies in certain instruments - i would recommend doing this for any instruments that don't have any important sonic information in that low register. for example, if your were using flutes, you could eliminate a lot of the low frequencies without changing the character of the instrument... this is especially helpful with any noisy samples of recordings!

2. you can also try to be really intentional about your composition! multiple lower register instruments playing different lines tend to clash a lot more than higher register instruments, so avoiding too many different melodic and/or harmonic ideas in the bass region can really be helpful! if you really want the character of multiple bass instruments at once, you can always try them in unison/octave apart!

i'm not sure if you genuinely were looking for a how to with this, but hopefully this helps you/anyone else who stumbles across this! again, i'm not an expert though, and the best thing you can do is just take a break from listening to your project, and come back later with fresh ears! :)

(but again, i have to reiterate: your project was so well done and fun to listen to!)

really great composition all around! i am admittedly a novice in chiptune, but the intricacy of your music is really stellar!

great work on your submission!

incredible quality! the first track is so stunning- i always love a semi-ambient synth track, but you've managed to combine the ambience with really strong melodic ideas, which is not always an easy feat!

the whole project felt really cohesive, nicely done! what a creative story concept, too - really evocative and inspiring! great submission! :)

i love the opening theme, the guitar is so nice and the chord progression throughout at the end of all things is so lovely! the live-recorded guitar has some slight imperfections (in a positive way) that gives it a really human feel - which i am a big fan of!

i adore fair of yesteryear, i'm a sucker for a cute little interlude!

beach games is such a good vibe! you really nailed that coastal, laid-back energy while keeping the energy fun and feeling good!

the return of the melody in twilight's farewell was really well done... it fits the energy of this track really, really well. i love it!

the final track is such a fitting conclusion to the whole project!

the only thing that i think could use a bit of work is mixing - on my headphones, i found the low end to be a bit muddy on occasion, but take that with a grain of salt - mixing is certainly not my strong suit!

overall, really strong compositions across the board, and a very enjoyable listening experience! your description was also so detailed and colourful, as i was listening and reading i felt like i could really envision your ideas and the landscapes. really lovely submission! :)

my own stream of consciousness incoming:

what a hefty submission! getting a full 30 minutes of music completed within a week is truly aspirational for a slow-moving composer such as myself!

i love your use of recurring melodies and motifs, it really helps the project feel cohesive throughout its variety of styles.

trapwater beach is SUCH a vibe! the disco-esque strings with the groovy rhythm guitar was such a groove!

grotto is also such a strong composition - it feels so intricate but not too busy, and the gritty drums are, yet again, a vibe!

calypso the great caught me SO off guard, it's so wonderfully heavy and cool... so fun!

dalma commando has such a sick boss fight vibe... sorry to describe everything as a vibe, but it's truly ALL such a vibe! the chiptune work in this track is absolutely sickening (complimentary)

what an intro for enemy infiltration... i felt myself in that pre-boss fight scramble of trying to find potions and prepare for the upcoming battle...

a moment of hope is such a perfect placement of that original melody and a break from the tension of the previous tracks, and really highlighted that beautiful melody so well!

i love the guitar treatment in the lighthouse! and the return of those punchy strings was very welcome - always vibing to those! plus some sick modulations throughout?? a sucker for a sudden key change...

the beefy return of the calypso the great theme  in lord of darkness, i love!

the grand finale! what a fantastic culmination of the previous tensions! the weaving of the melodies and motifs is so well executed to fit the higher energy and peak of the action. theres an almost contrapuntal feeling towards the end of the track, the way your melodies fit around each other and complement each other so well!

another welcome breather in not forgotten... good to get my heart rate back down after the grand finale...

photo finish is the perfect credits song to cap off this project, it's so good!

overall, this was such a wonderful submission... i had seen the runtime of it and planned to put in on in the background while i worked, but it immediately captivated me and held my attention for the entire duration, so instead, you get all my unfiltered thoughts! i genuinely do not have a single piece of criticism - i loved every second of this project!

i really liked how cohesive this project feels! comforted by stars is a really beautiful composition.

really cool story! i love the creativity, and the variety of tracks - and i particularly love the jazz combo vibe captured in flying tomatoes!

what a gorgeous concept, and wonderful execution! sunset facing east is such a beautiful composition, i was nearly tearing up :') also, the last track being played by the couple is such an adorable concept, and again, so well executed!
