I did share it, it's included it on the game page!! It just doesn't show on the Toasty Game Jam it seems, that's not your fault. Here's the install instructions that were on the game page. It is free and safe, the official RPGMaker website you can get all the RTP's for free. In XP, it doesn't come preinstalled when you export your game.

NOTICE** You need the RPGMAKER XP RTP to play this game! You can download it for free here, or if you have XP you should be all set.

I'm really glad to hear you've finished it! And that is my mistake with the scrap paper being consumable. I definitely will fix these after the jam. I'm so happy to hear about the atmosphere but truly there needs to be more eyes on your game.  Superrrrr impressive stuff!

No, that makes sense! A lot of it is correct. With my game I used voice acting so I was able to iron out grammar, and I've also been proofreading others papers in high school and college for years.  You do have a lot of dialogue, so your best bet when you work the game in the future would be to go through each event to make sure things are in line. It might take a day, but making sure everything is consistent and changing things to match the story will make it that much more impactful. I would also fix the credits, that's where I noticed the most spelling errors! I thought your story was strong, just those little touches add a lot!

Yes, haha I f'd up with making the scrap paper consumable! It's all the little things. I did release a video of how to beat the game if you're curious about the ending scene :)  Here it is!

And I believe you've missed one puzzle that leads to a notepad with information about Eilas's Favorite Snacks and Celebrities! My apologizes about the consumable scrap again! I will have a fix done after the jam :) and I really do appreciate the kind words, it really warms my heart that people are playing, even if in retrospect, I would change a lot of things. Thank you :)

This game is gorgeous! There is a considerable amount of slowdown on my computer, I'm not sure if it is due to my PC or just the effects in general. Some of GIF's (I presume?) take a while to load, but will eventually load. God, the music matches, the consistency in the artwork, just extremely professionally put together, and really interesting. I cannot believe that you had time to put this all together, even with an asset pack this would take me years. It all flows together well, and the feel of the gothic upper class 20's is super strong. You are a monster, you know your stuff, great accomplishment, what a piece of art haha!

I'm pretty new to discord, and social media (besides YouTube) in general lol, it should be @dantescrypt_15996 or just Dante's Crypt on Toasty's discord. I would love to replay it, I love anything psychedelic, and I'm curious about your inspirations as well!

Thank you for playing :) The kind words mean a lot! Other people had issues with that, and I apologize for the glitch. When you exit his room, if you don't press any arrow keys or any inputs, the cutscene should play out as intended without the softlock. I believe there's a small frame window where you can move forward, and it messes the "set move route" of the cutscene, so after exiting if you press nothing it should work. Thanks for checking it out, I really enjoyed playing your game as well!

Thanks for the kinds words! :) And thank you for finding that glitch. I've been able to replicate it, so after you exit the bedroom door (approaching the statue) there is a few frames where if you're holding the arrow keys you'll move before the cutscene begins, and that messes up the "set move route" and causes him to get stuck, which soft locks the game. That is entirely not your fault, I didn't find that glitch before the deadline. I'll make a patch after the jam is over,  but if you're still interested in continuing, you just need to not press anything after exiting the bedroom while the cutscene plays. I really appreciate you playing, and your game was amazing!

Haha, I really appreciate the feedback! And yes the rat is the true hero! If you want to tell me the oddities I'd be happy to hear it you could message me on discord @dantescrypt_15996. Also, thank you for the comment about the music, all the tracks are made by me, I've been making digital music for 6 years. I really liked your game, I'd be happy to make some tracks for it, if you want to continue to work on it, or work on another project, just hit me up. I'm not going to ask for money or anything, hah. Thank you for playing!

I love Mr. Dumbass Alien's dreams. Super graphically impressive, I love the custom art you did, looks super consistent, and just pretty to look at, although the game definitely reeks of Yume Nikki. I would love to see more things to make it disturbing/uncomfortable, but has a lot of charm, amazing what you did within the timeframe!

This one is an underrated one, I had a lot fun with your game! This is my first ever game jam as well! Definitely some disturbing subject matter, and I love all the custom art you did, the passion really shows. The atmosphere was well made, sound effects well used. Strong concept and execution, you gotta give yourself credit for how quickly you made this haha. Future suggestions I would recommend changing the default RM sounds of selecting, saving, loading, etc. Also for the life of me, I cannot get past the generator room, so if there's more game to this I'd love to see, or what you make in the future.  Cheers!

I really liked the message of the game, it did give me some spooks haha, the sounds in the basement. I felt the 3D model of the MC, was a little jarring compared to the traditional RPGMaker artstyle of her house. She did give me some uncanny valley vibes. There were some technical issues with the lighting and mapping, things being transparent or only half lit up, but I'm surprised with the complexity of your game with such a short time limit. The grammar was on and off, the long detailed paragraphs about objects in her life had perfect grammar, and other sections of normal dialogue lacked periods or had jarring spelling mistakes (such as the credits). It kind of threw off the immersion. I'm not sure if those longer paragraphs were AI-generated or had Grammarly gone through it, but it felt different than the rest of the game. If I were to give one critique it would be to make it more consistent, whether artstyle or grammar, because I believe your game idea is really strong and can be built upon to be a powerful message.  Definitely a creative idea and your game is strong in the technical department, really good work for the time limit!

Gorgeous artwork! The atmosphere was lovely, and I liked all the food and sleeping mechanics. All the artwork and story building had me curious about the plot! Super cute short game, can't believe it was made in 9 days! Only issues I had were minor, footstep sounds not working in the house at one point, and one time I got stuck in the bathroom doorway haha, but was able to load my save from before. So much potential, would love to see it built further.

I love all the custom artwork, and I felt the battle system well really-well balanced for a game made in 9 days, very good work. I will say the mapping is barren and isn't very clear to go. I'm also unsure of the backstory of my main character, I would like to hear more about the lore of the game. There are also some spelling errors, and I can't really say it adheres to the theme of gamejam, the only thing uncomfortable or disturbing is that the enemies drop fingers as loot when you kill them, (which is a creative concept), but not disturbing to me. I did enjoy beating the lost warrior!

It'll sound dumb, haha, but when you're finding the file for your boss, wasn't sure how to find, I guess I didn't under the coordinates.

Super technically impressive! The effects did cause a lot of slowdown on my PC, but I love the character artwork reminds me of Stalaggh album covers. The music fits perfectly and the battle system is super smooth and intuitive. Great work!

I really appreciate the feedback! And yes, I may have made it too tricky. In hindset, I would've included a text document with a guide on how to beat it.  I've included a video guide on how to pass all of the puzzles for you or anyone future playing it! But the kind words mean a lot to me, thank you!

Not to post spoilers, but when you first go outside to extinguish the blue fire, when I went back in the house it was still raining while inside the house. After I take a bath, I cannot dry myself off on the towel, it just says it is used for later. There is grammatical errors such as after I lock the windows it says, but room too cold now. I will say, a good resource for sounds that can be used to replace the default RPGMaker sounds, mainly the menu effects, (I should've specified), is freesound.org - - - https://freesound.org/

I don't want to clog up the comments section. But DM me on discord, @dantescrypt_15996, or Dante's Crypt on Toasty's Discord. I'll give you more places where there are grammatical errors if you want to fix them in the future. After the contest, though, so you're still in line with the contest rules.

The style is incredible. I love how quirky the game world is. I cannot get my head around one of the puzzles, I'm sure I'm just dumb. I had a swell time, music fits amazingly well.

Uh haha... This one speaks for itself, XD

Super creative idea! I enjoyed the concept and was genuinely unnerved by certain sections. I loved the art of the Grim Reaper. The game did have a lot of eventing bugs/errors and poor grammar, definitely needs playtested. The stock RPGMaker sound effects were really loud, and the consistent use of them was a little grating. I think with some work this game would be really fun, and I felt it was a nice length as well.

I enjoyed playing this! I thought the writing was really well done, and the game felt super smooth. In the beginning the textbox was overtop of the characters for the entire starting cutscene, maybe it'd be good to either move the characters up or move the textbox up so we can see the action. Also, I didn't feel disturbed or uncomfortable playing the game, the only thing potentially disturbing was the dead bodies of criminals you killed at the start. Would love to see more, keep it up. Playing this I could tell that a lot of passion was put in.

Lovely game. I'm still unsure of the ending haha, I assumed I guessed wrong. Artwork is gorgeous, and subject is definitely uncomfortable, I love to see it. Cheers!
