So happy you're enjoying the lore! There's lots more planned still. We're thinking about other game modes for the future but currently, we're working on the story mode being a month-long so you get to see more of how your choices impact the families, clowns, and political shifts in the world!

Hey JokerHart,
In this case, the needs are correct. There are six tiers to dominant vs recessive needs in our game. In the case of a circus/harlequin hybrid, the circus breeds clown compatibility states "Recessive trait: Will dominate all other recessive traits," while the harlequin's clown compatibility only says "Recessive trait," which means you take the need from the Circus breed page.
As far as needing to select the breed twice. I fully agree with you, it was my plan to fix this before the last update, but after we found several game-breaking bugs, we decided to prioritize fixing those and pushing the update ASAP over the handful of quality of life updates we wanted to include. They will be added in 1.0.2.
Hopefully, the coming update will make mixed-breed identification less of a hassle!
Thank you for the tip! We just found out Calico, Jingles, Caramel, and Jovial are impossible to solve due to mistakes with their assets. Expect an update within the next week to patch this. I am sorry for the mistake.
We do intend to make it compatible with Mac in the future. Currently, we are locked to Windows because of the encryption method I use, but I have been looking into other methods.
Thank you so much for the support! I do not know if Itch allows refunds, but I am happy to look into it if you would prefer to be refunded.
Hey Fatedframer, what are you running the game on? The game is currently only compatible with 64-bit Windows computers due to the encryption method I use. Learning other encryption methods is on my to-do list, but it has been difficult, especially since I only have a 64-bit computer myself.
To full screen the demo, select settings (The top right button) on the home screen, and the top left button of the settings menu sets the game to full screen. You can also do this after selecting new game by hitting the button in the top left of the screen after the game begins.
Hey Falsus, I just realized I never responded to this! We have added more bookmarks to the to-do list. Scrollable bookmarks are a good idea! We'll have to try it out and see how it feels.
I would love to see the table! We've been inspired by the recent surge in interest in this game and really appreciate knowing people are actually enjoying it! However, I am hesitant to say whether or not your information is correct.
Thank you for playing our game and for the feedback! I did notice the reservation flier was perhaps not clear enough. It'll be updated in the next version of the game, as well as information on placement mistakes. I agree the lighting is probably the most confusing aspect. I'll have to think on making that clearer. In the meantime, I will say the intention of the reserve is for clowns that are compatible with other clowns and do not need people or pets.
😮 Writing out the table is impressive! Early in the game development, we toyed with having 5 bookmarks, but we didn't like how it looked. We will play with the idea a bit more and see if we can make more bookmarks visually appealing, but they can't cover the drawer because it's interactable.
Thank you!!
Thank you for your feed back! Adopting your own clown is a fun idea! We don't currently have any plans for that in the game but we'll keep that in mind going forward! Cowboy and Basil will both be in Clown Catchers, a TCG we are working on, currently in prototype phase. We would love to see fan art if you decide to draw them!
Thank you! It means a lot to hear you're enjoying the game! Currently, the end-of-week review is the end of the game. We have been working on a longer version of the game, but I don't have a timeline yet for when that will be available. Before that comes out, there will be an update to make identifying mixed breeds easier and allow you to see specific placement mistakes. Likely other updates to follow as we've found a lot we can improve on since publishing version 1.
There are over 150 individual clowns in the current version of the game, and the clowns you get each day are randomized, so I encourage you to restart your playthrough if you want to see every clown. Hopefully, we will have an update for you soon!
Just rated and commented! Here's mine https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-14/rate/3849819
The concept and art style are really cute. In the first frame after talking to the shop owner i tried to walk back to the friend and i was suddenly in a hallway which i was confused by. I was hesitant to try the skip button to move the text forward as i thought it would skip all the dialog. A very ambitious project for being done in a week! Nice job!
Trying your game right now! Here's mine! https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-14/rate/3849819
I'll rate your game as well! Here's our game! https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-14/rate/3849819
Really cute idea and theme interpretation. I wish there was a bit more of a tutorial. I read the explanation of where the idea came from which I think is really fun but without knowing about this song before hand I didn't understand what tapping the pocket accomplished and would have liked to see just a bit more explanation within the game.
I don't think the text size is too bad, I think it would be more readable if it wasn't white text on a yellow background. An explanation would help to know how to play cards with different effects, like attack cards vs defense cards. I wasn't sure if I played a defense card or accidentally discarded it. (I apologize if this isn't helpful, I'm struggling to think of how to word it properly lol)
