I recently discovered that SubscribeStar can take years to validate accounts. This made me wonder if there are alternatives. To no one's surprise, there are alternatives for creators 18+, at least for now. But I don't know how well they're viewed on itch.io. So I'm asking the community: What's your experience with alternative membership links?
Examples: Onlyfans, Housefly, pixivFANBox, X/Twitter (now that they have memberships), etc.
dude.... what is that spaghetti text? At this point you are trolling or you are ignoring my comments for random reasons.
I will end this discussion here and make what i feel work the best for my project.
(XD is almost funny went you started to suggest i use PNGs. When explicity use webp to save space.)
1. I will be more clear because, i think I misinterpreted your first post about WebP. For most of my images, I'm using: WebP, lossy files, compensation 6, quality 90%, using the program Krita.
Unless you have a configuration I haven't accounted for, any quality improvement will come at the cost of larger file sizes.
2. Regarding 1080p, it's true that there are more devices than I initially thought with that quality (I had to check the statistics on that). But the other point I mentioned earlier still stands. If I raise the quality to 1080p, that translates to larger images and videos, which leaves me with less space to work with in itch.io.
I'm not against the idea of changing the project's quality. But considering what's required, at best this will be something I'll implement in the future, and at worst, it will be something to keep in mind for future projects.
Hi, thank for the comment but i think will not do that.
the problem with your suggestion is that the size of the file still go up. I have to take into account the size of the files until i can get more space on itch.io. Currently i'm still experimenting with the quality of the images to get light files with good quality.
That been say regarding to making the images 1080p in expecific, i don't see the benefit of it. as far as i know most people still are using 720p.
Maybe I can make a 1080p version of the game, but I'm pretty sure I'll make that a membership perk to justify the effort and because sooner or later I won't be able to upload it to itch.
Most of the developers here are indie developers just starting out in game development, so they're limited to 1 GB (itch.io's basic plan).
I think it's possible to upgrade the basic itch.io plan, but i think that requires money, and indie developers starting out for fun or with a single project can't usually afford it.
(if you don't believe that there is a limit on file size, i recommend that you to try creating a project here and try uploading a file. You will see the text that tell you the limit of 1GB)
First, you don't decide how I speak/express myself. If there's any confusion with what I say, I'm willing to explain myself. Now again, this isn't the same as you telling me how I speak, especially when my way of speaking is valid (it's incredible that you're ignoring the actual definition of nuke to maintain your narrative).
Second, based on your second paragraph, it seems you have no idea how itch.io moderation works. I have a surprise for you. I do have an idea, because I'm a developer of NSFW games on this platform, and every game that enters itch.io goes through a review before being indexed.
Every NSFW developer who wants to publish a game here has to follow a number of strict rules before appearing in searches. And even then, they have to promote their game independently because itch.io doesn't offer much support for small developers.
So, after all those reviews, to find that itch.io decided to hide all the NFSW games without taking into account all the rules they previously established is at least questionable.
Dude, it's incredible that you're so confident about something without any information on the subject.
First, dude you're really arguing about the definition of nuke? i hope you know that the term "nuke" real definition is different from what you and i are using it. and the way you and i use it is more in line with the "urban" use of it.
second, my point still stand. Are you consciously or subconsciously ignoring the fact that Steam went through the same pressure and didn't decide to "nuke" all adult games?
Again, is incredible to think that the previus itch.io system of reviewing games don't have any weight, and they have to resort to hiding/nuke all the nfsw games.
"They're just hidden while they're reviewing games"that's exactly what I mean with nuke. I know that most games are still here. But the fact But the fact that they were all hidden is questionable at best. Do previous itch.io reviews hold no weight? Were all the NFSW games previously reviewed by itch.io allowed without proper authorization? or itch.io just took the easy way out and hide/nuke all games (That's not counting the games that were permanently removed.).
Dude the fact they nuke all nfsw games it's enough to question the platform and even get angry. Yes, I understand they were pressured by paid platforms, but not even Steam did what itch.io did. They nuke all games Without thinking twice.
It's as if they took the easy way out, instead of reviewing the NFSW games on the platform. And if that's the case, it means that the tedious reviews that NFSW games go through before they're released have been useless all this time.
my game harem's kindoms (tag: harem) was shadowbanned: https://pandora-entertainmentxd.itch.io/harem-kingdoms
Okay, I can understand this. I apologize if I caused the staff too much trouble.
But seriously, the fact that certain messages go unanswered is concerning from the requester's perspective (I don't have all the information at hand, so it feels like I'm being left in the dark).
Again, thanks. I really hope I've just had bad luck with my previous email support requests.
first of all, thank you for you response. I know that the team is working hard i have not doubt about that.
now, this topic is not about my resent request (i hoped that was clear in my first message) is about the old email request that is 6 month old a never get a response (email sent 9/10/2024. code 233733).
That email number is mine, and as far as i know even today there is not response.
If I hadn't opened another support email request and commented on another post here, I still wouldn't have resolved my issue.
Thanks again to the itch team for the work they do. But this blog post wasn't a complaint due to my new email support requirement. It was because I've seen a pattern of emails that are never answered unless commented here.
again this email (sent 9/10/2024. code 233733). never got a response, and based on that, I decided to make a post asking the community about their experiences with support email.
I understand that the private data part on a public forum is a bad idea, but what I'm saying is that it would be incredible if there was a private system like the itch.io forums.
That said, while I understand that it's difficult for stats to deal with so many people, I find it surprising that a moderator here has already answered my question (more or less), and yet the two support emails I sent (both older that this post) remain unanswered.
Again, my sincere appreciation to the itch.io team, but this is weird to say the least.
I was just speculating, but leaving that to the side. the problem still remain (again thank you for the work), but is incredible that a email can go more that 5 month without respond (my previous example: (email sent 9/10/2024. code 233733)
that gives zero feith for the time of respond for my new email (287827).
Hi, i recently posted a email to support (287827). i know that i have to wait patiently but that is not the reason i made this post.
I have seen a worry trend of support no responding email unless seen by other means (example: in this forum).
How do I know this? Various documented cases:
-https://itch.io/t/1150326/no-response-to-email
-https://itch.io/t/1603071/cannot-get-reply-to-any-email
-I even have an old case of my own (email sent 9/10/2024. code 233733), that never got a reply. thankfully that problem was fixed after i send another email y make a post here xd.
I don't like to complain, and I appreciate the work of the itch team (I'm able to publish my game thanks to them). But I find it strange that this problem has been on the platform for so long (I hope it's not a problem with my account. Example: shadow ban).
i will like to heard the community experience with this issue.
in my case if the A.I. is good and was trained using content free to use/or compensating the author. is a good idea in teory
But the current level of AI is quite poor. Leaving aside concerns about "how was the example AI trained?", all the IAs dialogue I've seen have the following problems:
- They imagine and/or get lost in the middle of conversations.
- The voices are monotonous or have poor implementation of emotions.
- There isn't much diversity in the voices.
Note: I'm not an AI expert, so perhaps one I'm unfamiliar with could be wonderful without any copyright issues.
I recently updated my game page. and that make wonder who the tab of 'news & popular' of itch games work? I know that when games get updated they will be shown there, but i don't know what are the requeriments for that (because I doubt that just by putting some blogspot update my game will appear in that tab.).
I'd appreciate a little help here, please. I'm new to publishing games, but I know how not following the rules can kill my growth.
