The smoothing was definitely intentional! It's meant to feel weighty, like big sniper rifles in older shooters.

I liked it a lot, although it was frustrating to have my structures always die almost instantly.
The music was a little loud, and I wish there was a way to turn it down a bit.
I really loved the comic at the start! That was a super creative way to set up the premise. I appreciate the lack of text as well. There's a lot of really cool design choices you made here. Another win for illustrated sprites <3
Top notch work
You took the "Simpler times" idea and romanticized childhood wonder without contrasting it with a bleak reality of the present. Your narrative carries on the creativity and joy we all felt as kids and lets us savor it, while still looking forward to the future. The mechanics were fun to play, very low stress, and comforting. I can't praise this enough and I have no suggestions for you whatsoever aside from this: Keep up the outstanding work.
Nice work! Cool to see another person using Gamemaker, seems pretty uncommon for some reason.
I never really played pvz but this is fun! I think a slightly expanded color palette would help my eyes a little bit, and I pressed escape which instantly took me to main menu halfway through a level x_x
I really like the sprites and music, and I am happy to see this style of art on here. Love live hand-drawn <3
Got softlocked in the water puzzle. Then tried again and got softlocked again. Not sure why I can't time shift into water.
I like the art style and the time shift concept, reminds me of the one level from Dishonored 2. I really was hoping there would be something related to Runescape, but it seems like you just used the name lol.
