The idea of the project is to make the player think that he is not alone here, gradually depressing the atmosphere, making them afraid of every rustle, trying to find someone and answer the question "Am I alone here?"
A kinda test for schizophrenia
For the first game jam project, it was nice! However, a better tutorial is needed next time. The audio is the best part of this project, it's really funny and stylish. I want to see more projects from you! I first learned about TurboWarp and wondered why you didn't use Godot or a similar option instead. Could you explain it to me? I would like to try it too! :)
This game offers a unique and interesting twist on tower defense mechanics. I’m truly impressed by its distinct gameplay and visual style. I look forward to seeing more of your future projects because this one is fantastic! The incorporation of mythology works exceptionally well and is perfect for Halloween-themed jams. Overall, I would rate the style, theme and gameplay a perfect 5 out of 5!
Hi! Thank you for your comment. I really appreciate it.
The door in the game was functional (you could open and close it), but I forgot to enable it again :( I apologize for that, I was in a rush and overlooked it.
In the platforming section, the final goal is to touch the open book at the top, but I should to add more widgets with extra information. After the game jam, I will include those changes. Thank you for your patience!
I had to remove a lot of content because my ideas exceeded what I could realistically accomplish in four days, which is why the game feels a bit raw. I hope you'll try it again after I fix these issues post-game jam!
The core idea is to convey whether you are alone or if there's an uninvited guest who could be dangerous. The village contains hints, such as bodies in bags in some houses or at some nights a random person who is watching throw your window, to support this narrative. The meta idea is to create a player’s schizophrenic thoughts: “Am I alone here?” and “Will there be screamers? I’m scared.”
While UE5 can create web builds, it requires a lot of extra time and sacrifices the potential of the game by removing visual and graphical features, forcing more time to be spent on optimization.
Again, I sincerely apologize for the unfinished content, and I hope you’ll give it another try after the game jam when I have fixed all your feedback. Thank you! 🙂
Art style and visuals receive a 5 out of 5. I really appreciate this retro Game Boy style. However, the audio and sound design are the weakest parts. I'm genuinely shocked that you completed this bug project in only 15 hours. If you finish this project after the game jam, I would like to replay it one more time. I have added this game to my collection!
