Need I say more let's start promoting replacements

not really. that's kinda why it's popular? I think there's like moby? and Indiegala? of which I have used neither and don't even know if they host a service at all

well we need to start looking or make one cause this site is now dead.

i've seen plenty of games i play on itch being shared on other sites like F95, Lewdzone, Lewdgames, Adultgamesworld, Xgameszone, fap-nation ........
about any of them being a good alternative to itch... no idea, i'm not a creator lol

Unfortunately none of this provides any tools to manage game page. As a dev I've sent my game to some of these and have no control on what happens after that. The only platforms allowin me to manage my game were itch and newgrounds.com.

F95 is pirate site at all, which works only if you're making games for free.

These are all pirate sites, man. There the dev has no rights even for his own intellectual property. And the attitude towards the developers' work is also not the best. Therefore, it's like a return to sexual slavery. And no opportunities for the developer to earn profit for his work. Yes, if you saw a "donate" button on such pirate sites under the game, then you should know it's not a donation to the developer, but to the guy who stole the game and published it there. That is how it is.

I generally have a better opinion of those sites than this but you make good points they are great alternatives for consumers but we need ones for developers too they can't be ignored in this come on people there has to be other sites out there keep searching or better yet give us a heads up on one your making devs need support right now too.

I built something as an encyclopedic reference

https://indiegamenews.github.io/Compendium/Home.html

although I do not host video games you can talk about yourself or your games here and even link them back to itch.io. please just follow my guidelines when writing pages that's all I ask.

you can do so by forking and pull requesting the github repo found here:

We should be directing our energy into combatting the payment processing companies since they will attack any popular website in the future that offers this material, Patreon was under attack 6 months ago, and Only Fans around 5 years ago.

Calling the payment processors is the only real solution.

The reason phone call complaints are effective with these payment processor companies is because it takes up valuable time that the company could be otherwise dealing with other issues.  Phone support is expensive and slow, which makes it an ideal pressure point  A large public outcry is what causes companies to pay attention and consider backtracking.

Make a script about why this is bad (payment processor companies shouldn't be censoring legal material because they personally think it's immoral and it's an attack on free speech - you can ask AI to create a script for you if you don't have to time to write a long message) then call VISA/MasterCard/STRIPE/Paypal, you'll be on hold for a while because everyone is calling, and say you'd like to lodge a complaint.  Then when they ask what this is in regards to, just start reading your script.  The longer the better since that's the point.  We essentially have to keep this up for the next few weeks if we want something to happen.  We don’t need to be aggressive - just persistent. Keep the pressure on and call every few days, or every day if you care about this issue.

The following link has all the contact information you need to call them:

https://10kphonecalls.com/

Service reps will now try to quickly escort you to "e-mailing" instead once they realize you're complaining about itch and Steam's recent censorship - try to just keep them on the line.  In one call when they attempted to do this, I simply asked, "Are phone call complaints reported to your company or not?" and they just kept repeating "You must e-mail _________" - I was like, "You're not answering my questions, do you report them or not?" and eventually they transferred me to a supervisor who was really awesome to talk to and spent a long time talking to me..  Asking them about why companies are attempting to ban legal content is also a good question that they can't answer but will keep them on the line for a while.

I don't have the mental fortitude to do this but I stand with him on this it's the same effect as flooding a company with mail in earlier years keep them on the line keep talking keep being polite and they will be forced to explain listen and deal with you don't give them a reason to hang up don't give them the chance to redirect you get to that supervisor and make them answer the same questions over and over again with different people make them see they can't push us around with your best not your worst no cursing no foul language I know that's rich coming from me who curses like a sailor and is too scared/ worn down to do this but well it will work and if you have the courage and mental strength to do this you should it will help more than most people think.

DLSite seems to be the go-to for the sale on NSFW games, to my knowledge.  Won't be surprised if that's where I wind up in the wake of this shit show.

Wherever these games end up, even if I wasn't buying many of them, I will not be purchasing from this web site or company ever again. I know this is a rock and a hard place for Itch, but sorry. You will be sacrificed to show other companies not to turn on their customers because some stupid group of rabid feminazis started complaining to payment processors. I hope they get the message when this company goes bankrupt.

Well a lot of new updates have happened and it seems Itch.io is trying to fight for us ... honestly I still don't trust them and recommend both looking for and making alternative sites but I'm willing to wait and see if they deserve a second chance but I'm not gonna lie it's still a long road for them to get back the trust and respect they lost with all this.

THE SLANDER

Itch io or steam, others do not exist
