How does your game fit the theme?
The tree, played by the player, is inside a time loop. As the time passes, the weather turns into a storm and resets the loop.
The player needs to find how to break free from the loop by gathering information and other things.

Simple, but a nice atmosphere. I like the walking tree animation <3
This is art in a simple game. The cycle of life is expressed well on trees, the infinity symbol map layout, the regrow of the shorten tree, and replant of the fruits seed in the end for the new beginning.
The consistent art style gives a nice charm to it, nothing is out of place. The music is perfect for relaxing gameplay. Well done!
A nice little game with relaxing background music.
It’s a short game, but still a complete one! The theme was present.
The pixel art was cute and fit the atmosphere well as did the audio.
The movement felt a bit on the slow side, but overall, it worked fine. Of course, it would’ve been nice to have a bit more to do, but that’s something for a future update or your next project!
Keep going—you’re on the right track! 🌿🎮✨
Nice game ,i took root in 2 days. The backgound music was nice and relaxing and was cool to see the tress change over time.
I have taken root. Nice job with the audio and visuals. It works seamlessly in the game and enjoyable to listen and look at. I would not have mind if you made a few more levels for us to enjoy. Well Done.
The art style, music and the animation of the tree legs was amusing. Great narration at the beginning that explained the game's whole idea but I realized that the game play itself was the story which was quite interesting. The game could have been longer and fun if the cycle continued after the tree takes root and a new tree grows from the seed that falls from the 1st tree's fruit and the cycle continues until the players finds a way to break the cycle by solving the loop puzzle. That's my suggestion. The composition was already nice and you can definitely continue developing this. Overall, the game was too cute to play to be this short.
Thank you for your comment !
In fact, 5 hours before the deadline the gameplay what as you described : you respawn at the position where you die ! But as it could totally "break" a part of the gameplay, for example if you die close to the rot apple, you respawn right next to the apple you can pick up, which removes part of the fun ! So I changed it to be the version you played, which I feel is better.
And yes, I plan to continue working on it and adding more things to do to break the loop !
Nice little concept that fits the theme perfectly! The game is short and simple, but the overall atmosphere is very cute. The mechanics are straightforward and work well, making for a smooth experience.
I really like the idea behind the art, though some elements - like the trees - have a more 'childish' look, and the pixel art doesn’t quite match the UI style. A bit more cohesion in the visuals could make it even better.
Still, it’s a charming and enjoyable game to play - great work!
Very short, simple game. I think easily the best part about it is the audio. I'm not sure if you composed it or used free music, but I think it does a great job in building the atmosphere of the game. I think there could've been a bit more depth to it, since I quickly completed it in 2 days. I mean this as a good thing though, I wish the game was longer! Beyond that, another piece of critique is the art. I think it could've used a bit more polish and maybe more work on the animations and more refined assets. I usually don't like to be picky on that aspect, but I think because the game builds a lot off atmosphere alone, designing and perfecting an art style to match the music would make it perfect.
Thank you for your feedback! I made the music for this game sadly me and my dev Landfall that also made the sprites didn't have a lot of time to add a lot of content during the jam we would be really happy to add more content tho! Ty for the kind words!
As he replied, it's tremisabdoul which made the music to fit totally the ideas I had, and he did it perfectly so the music progresses as well as the time/weather !
I did the pixel art (except for the background) and that's the first time I did it, I wanted to see what I could do !
Indeed, it feels less polished as it really is, I will try to learn how to do it better for the next jam, thank you for your comment !
YOOOOOO, at first this game looks ambiguous, but then I understand the cycle of life and the difficult to achieve the fruits, the ambience is perfect, the sounds gives nice vibes, my ratings for you are almost perfect!
Thank you, glad you liked it and thank you for playing !
I like the approach to the theme you picked here. I think it has potential to be a little puzzle game. If you would like to take some ideas: you could add some more pieces of information to gather, "locked" doors or pathways or items to collect, that can only be reachable once you get information from other previously played cycles.
I really loved the tweak on the music once the loop goes on, very well executed!
Happy to know that you noticed the tweaks to fit the music with the weather that was funny to play with !
In fact, 5 hours before the deadline the path to the end only appeared when the fruits are picked up, but it seemed too much "magical" after some feedbacks from playtesters ! So I changed it to be like that, which I feel fits more to the ambiance !
I had in mind to make the water rise at some places to block some paths, but didn't have the time to try it and I felt it could induce too many problems with hitboxed, so I prefered not to try that for the jam.
Thank you for your ideas !
There are a lot of things that make this game unique. But one that I think is truly special is the music design. It captures everything that the Minecraft soundtrack captures: a sense of peace, with a nostalgic and sentimental quality. The art does this well too, I think the simplicity and straightforwardness help contribute to the game's atmosphere and feeling. The only thing is that the game is really short, with only one objective, but that's fine, because I could just sit here and listen to the music all day. Great work, keep it up!
I don't know if I deserve this much compliments but thank you. I didn't realize the similarities with the sound design of Minecraft but you're right, when I was composing I think about FTL and Windwaker but the strong chilling vibe that I try to put on the SD brings it right! I'm really happy that you like the game and to read your kind words !
Reminded me of "Outer Wilds"! I like this type of games- where you need to use knowledge gained in previous iterations. What this game needs is more content. In the end, you needed to remember where both fruits are, and where the hole is. I finished the game in the second loop, which feels a bit short.
It was one of the inspirations yes, that's one of my favorite game ever ! I didn't have the time to add more things so indeed it's very short, so most people did it in two loops.
