I've already played and rated everyone's game and tried to leave feedback where I could.
Thank you in advance ⸜(。˃ ᵕ ˂)⸝♡
I saw you mention under another comment that a lot got cut from the game, so I'll try my best not to critique too harshly.
- What I will say about what I was able to play is that the shooting mechanic could use some work. Having enemies spawn from behind you and not being able to turn around to shoot them didn't feel very nice.
- I wish there was a little more visual feedback for taking damage, especially since audio couldn't make it in. There's nothing to tell the player how many hits they can take or how much damage they've already taken.
- More i-frames from damage taken would also be a nice QOL feature for the full game.
Good job (˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶)
For anyone struggling to get started, a controller is mandatory to play this game as far as I can tell. Y Rotation is also inverted and I didn't see an option to flip it.
During my session, I made multiple direct hits on enemies and they never died. Didn't matter how close I got to one, locked on or not. I shot an enemy 5 times and watched the red bullets connect and bounce away. Maybe it's a bug, maybe I did something wrong, I'm not sure. But because of this, I wasn't able to progress.
I like the graphics and the concept, but unfortunately it was unplayable for me. (。•́︿•̀。)
You definitely hit that 90s aesthetic. I love how much effort was put into the itch page and the character designs.
Some notes:
- When I left the application and tried to click back into it, it wouldn't capture the mouse and I had to restart the game. This happened twice by accident.
- The main character can get stun-locked if surrounded by a bunch of enemies. I'm not sure if there are i-frames, but if there are, maybe make them a little longer.
- When trying to attack enemies that are grounded, I noticed that if the character wasn't exactly facing the enemy, even if the crosshair was, the attack wouldn't register. Sometimes pressing melee attack too soon before the animation finished would cancel out hits. This lead to a few deaths (ᵕ—ᴗ—)
- A mini-map or objective markers would be a nice addition for directionally challenged players like myself, but of course that's more so personal preference.
I can tell a lot of thought was put into the development of this game and I think overall you guys did a great job! ◝(ᵔᵕᵔ)◜
I'm not going to lie, I was genuinely confused on what I was supposed to do. It wasn't until I had the level rotated in a specific way while moving that I figured out the core mechanic. I think adding some instructions to the description of the game would be really helpful, because I almost stopped playing thinking the game might be broken.
That aside, the mechanic itself is really smart. Once I realized what you were going for, I thought, "Wow, that's really freaking cool!" The graphics are really cute, but the white can blur a little too much into each other, making readability a bit difficult coming from someone with an astigmatism.
I really like what you did with your game and think just a bit more polish would make it even better since initial user experience is important.
Good job dev ⸜(。˃ ᵕ ˂ )⸝♡
I read your blog and all the work you did towards the project. Despite none of your work making into the final game, you worked really hard and I think that counts for something. I have my fair share of half-finished or abandoned projects, but all that time and effort doesn't just go away. Great job dev - keep working hard ( ˵ •̀ ᴗ •́˵)☆
Thank you very much! ♡⸜(˶˃ ᵕ ˂˶)⸝♡
The invisible walls were added around the edges of the map to keep players from falling off, and the walls after the log pass is to make sure you can't leave little sis behind. The awkward tree collisions weren't intended, but I did try to make a clearer path towards the center of the climb. I hadn't heard of Fahrenheit until today, I'll definitely give it a look. Thanks for playing!
Thank you for playing (*^-^*)
What you thought happened, did indeed happen (thank you for not spoiling <3).
Since it was a one man project, I didn't want to over scope and end up not submitting, so I reeled it back a bit. Hopefully it wasn't too boring, but I do appreciate you giving it a try |*・ω・)ノ
The main menu music had me grooving for a solid 5 minutes; it's so catchy! The music in general is a complete bop.

The art style is trippy and unique - I love it a lot! Your game definitely stands out. The controls sent me for a loop, though. Unfortunately, they're not very intuitive (to me) and since they can't be remapped, I struggled quite a bit. But I was determined not to let the clankers beat me! I eventually showed them what fleshy things can do, mwahahahahahaaaaaa!! ৻( •̀ ᗜ •́ ৻)

First off, mood set immediately! I love the main menu music. The camera pull to the character is chef's kiss. Managed to get all the way to the glowing panel and saved the peeps. Won the game on my own, then went in a second time with the rovers.
Some notes:
- The rover mechanic was a little finnicky. I sent a rover out thinking, "Oh, I can use this to blow the mine," moved the rover to the mine - nothing. Moved rover back and forth over mine - nothing. Confusion, lol. I move the character further into the mine field and try again with another rover. Little man goes up to a mine, explodes, and I died (≧▽≦)

- The turning is a bit fast. Adding an option to adjust turn speed would be appreciated, but if that's on purpose, ignore me.
Overall, nice game with cool mechanics. Good job! ٩(^ᗜ^ )و ´-
Other Players Note:
For anyone else getting this error when extracting, double click the MineFreeze.rar file > Windows > Frozen.exe and you can play the game:

First, I love the Spore esque creature creator! That's my little cutie Robin <3
Gameplay definitely had me confused until I read the other comments about purchasing land. I was beside myself on why the other creatures didn't want to spread out, then I was like, "Ooooh...," lol. Once I figured that out, I got the gist of it pretty quick. Really cool entry! Good job team (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧

Controls are a bit sharp and the squish hitbox could use some work, but once you get the hang of it, it's not hard. I squished 115 before I let the bugs overtake me. I would update the description to have the controls, as at first I thought I just had to walk over the bugs to squish them. It took a few clicks to realize I needed to press space.
Good job (◕‿◕✿)
